I've a MacBook Pro 2010 with all updates installed. When I put the Graal application in my Application folder the client freezes (pic) and after some time crashes. If it's on my desktop it works fine.

EDIT: Oops, didn't notice this was the beta thread. Maybe it's a problem with your language (doubt it, but maybe try changing to English?) |

Don't put it in your Application folder, it will try to scan it. Will add something to check where it is and abort that.
|
The client seems to immediately crash when client-RC is opened.
|
Command + A does not select all in GUI controls.
Also, the client-RC crash was a result of a large number of files in scriptfiles (100+ MB), so it was likely a script error. |
GuiMLTextEditCtrl.getLines() includes the "\n" newline character on the end of each line when it should be stripped out, meaning that when you then take that array and use it with GuiMLTextEditCtrl.setLines(), you get two newlines for every one.
|
I can't copy text from a GuiMLTextCtrl on the Mac or Windows beta.
|
A new Mac version has been uploaded:
|
It also adds zooming with Alt + 8/9.
|
Pardon the poor quality, but it should show it. Look at the edges of the wall tiles as I move. The tileset is pics1 so not sure what the problem is. |
I have a problem with all GUI controls that show a scroll bar. Whenever I use the 2 finger swipe to scroll down a little it shows the progress of the scrolling. But as soon as the scrolling stops the scroll bar goes to the top again. So in other words it never stays in position after scrolling down.
|
New Mac version will be up in a few hours:
- smooth scrolling with touchpad or magic mouse - it shows the number of pms you have received on the graal dock icon and by clicking on the dock icon you can open the pm, similar to the system tray icon on Windows - the gani crash fix which was included in the latest Windows version |
Glad to hear about the PM notifications :)
|
PM windows now have resizable frames.

This is happening sometimes, as well as other colors.

Key combinations like "CTRL + 1" also trigger the event for the "1" key, which is inconsistent with the Windows version.
|
Another playerlist bug:
Names will overlap (this happens all the time), and PMs will sometimes be blank (clicking History to view them works fine). This has been happening since frames were added. Showing both: http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/676...21at92138p.png (it's happening on Mac and Windows) Seems like windows aren't being destroyed correctly (maybe a Mac bug) since I'll often open a new PM and it will already be at a changed size or have text I sent to someone in a PM earlier in it. EDIT: Also, double clicking a player to send a PM will sometimes open a waiting PM... |
Windows still are not destroying properly and will sometimes not be destroyed if you click "Close" or even closing the window with the X button.
|
Profiles don't jump to the top when you open them if you already have them open.
|
The problem with PMs is getting extremely annoying. It's especially noticeable if you switch servers after getting a lot of PMs on the first server. I'm having to quit my client every 15 minutes or so because every single PM I open is glitched as described. Can the old playerlist script please be returned until this is fixed?
|
Speaking of pms I noticed that a new pm window always opens on the same position which isn't really good located. I prefer to close the windows by pressing the X button and the x button is exactly above the one from the client window. So when lots of mass messages come in and I just click X in a rush it happens lots of times that the client is closed, too. This is really annoying.
What would be pretty neat actually is being able to close a pm window by pressing command+w. |
How does one become a beta tester?

You had to get word to Skyld when the beta was originally announced. Sadly I'm able to test on several machines, but to no avail.
|
A new version will soon be released:
- rotatable body sprites - speed improvements with in-game text rendering - particles support text and ganis again - the showimg shadow color is now multiplied with the alpha value - extended screenshot functions (makescreenshot2, makescreenshotgame, makescreenshotfull) - Alt+Enter is maximizing / de-maximizing the game window |
Has anyone on Leopard (OS 10.5) had the chance to test the latest beta? The binary has been linked against some different libraries and it should not crash on startup now. http://www.graalonline.com/downloads/beta/Graal_mac.zip

sorry if this was already posted ( not about to read 10 pages of stuff )
On era you can't go into the Era News building if you are on a mac computer. ( still wasn't fixed as of today so worth posting ) |

Edit: You can still get inside if you reconnect and hold the up arrow key. |

Works for me, may be you check with the new version which I will upload later today.

A new Mac beta version has been released (5.302):
- doesn't show the filename scan window anymore (was just a blank window) - uses now the .app folder as the base data folder instead of the directory where the app was located, so that you can now put it in any folder without worrying about it taking a lot of time to startup - when resizing the window then it's not artifically increasing the game frame rate - fixed a crash when sleep()ing two times in an event handler function (e.g. on Varia) - reduced file size because all Carbon references have been removed (using Cocoa now) |
The new client starts much faster but I'm aware of some interesting behaviour with GANI attributes all loading suddenly at once when entering a level which didn't happen before (for example, on Era, when you log in now it shows everyone's previous damage display).
|
Uploaded 5.303, the filename scan window shouldn't appear anymore and the sleep/waitfor/class loading bug from 5.302 is fixed.
