For the record.
Graal stopped rocking in 2002. They called it "Graal2002". And it sure as hell did not rock. |

I didn't read anyone's reply, but I totally agree with Hiro.
I was actually able to play Zone and still have fun, whereas now it has the population of 2. |

Graal will never be the same as when Galen was around. |
04' Was the best for me. I remember plenty of new people and old people I could interact with, so Graal felt life like and wasn't all boring as it has become now.

I haven't had the thrill for a long time, the last spark I got were back in 06 when I started playing Graal Kingdoms, these days I get my buzz from developing.

I say to revive Graal we should show the players on Classic iPhone that there is 'PC Graal' I know we would get a lot of noobs, but in a herd of noobs, there is always a star.

v6 will be no different than v5 I'm guessing. The only way Graal will be good again is if they bring back lifetime subscriptions and give you the ability to have the account name you want, not a Graal######. Oh, and if they downsize Graal. |
What we need is another modern server with guns! If only people would begin developing one and realize it's a stupid idea.

To some extent you can measure a server's player growth by the amount of Graal###### accounts online, both Era and Zodiac have a fairly healthy amount of them. While UN has very little which leads me to believe that they aren't attracting any new players (and have a **** load of staff).
The amount of decent (uninterrupted) trial play time you can actually have on Zodiac and Era have increased dramatically with the removal of Observer Mode, and to some extent can be credited to the recent jump in the global PC playercount. Classic iPhone players do find their way on to the PC, so suggesting that they need to advertise more on the iPhone is rather pointless. Community names in them self are not bad at all, the continued lack of support for them however is. The flaws of community names that players describe can easily be hidden and support added for it so it feels seamless. Lifetime subscription also doesn't need to be re-added back either, Graal would be better off with a trial experience that doesn't completely castrate you like Observer Mode does and lower Gold subscription costs would also help as well. Nothing can be done to return the community back to what it was years ago though, which is more so an adapt or move on decision that needs to be made individually. |
Servers should be measured by how many scripters they attract, not new players.

I think first impressions need to be improved, both on servers and on Graal. There should be some startup screen "Welcome to Graal! Choose a server below to start playing!" on first login with a blurb and icon for each server. While on that topic, the serverlist and login screen need to be scrapped entirely. It would take a couple of hours at the most to rework them to emulate Graal v3 or 4 (assuming that's the direction to take, which it might not be—Graal has changed a lot since then).
In addition, servers need to have better starting guides. I think I'll probably start one for Era (which currently completely lacks one) soon. I know UN used to have one, and Zodiac has one (which looked good at first impression but I haven't completed). |
