Sounds can only be played clientside anyway. If 4 people go in and only one hears the "Ding" though, defeats the purpose of his idea.

YEAAH!!

i say add a waiting time on elevators so people can't just spam the button when you're trying to go to another floor.

I may be wrong about clientside/serverside stuff, but theres key words on UN that if people say, everyone in the level hears them. Im drawing a blank of what they are. But people always spam them so you can't miss it

I like the idea of beeping noises for when the elevator. And instead of switches for controlling up and down you could use a gui menu that looks something like this.

And in the rooms it would be nice to show what floor the elevator is on, and the same goes for the inside of the elevator. So if you're already in the elevator you could know when some one is about to use the elevator. If you're not in the elevator you would even know what floor the player went on.

From a technical standpoint, all sounds are clientside, but it's definitely not impossible to play sounds for everyone. Not sure where TSA got that idea. Guns do that every time you shoot them.

Chris already touched on this by pointing out the guns thing, but ganis are the best workaround for playing sounds for other people to hear and this is probably what UN is doing. Era has the exact same thing by the way. /roxbury

Back when houses had working door bells when another player would ring the bell everyone in the house in any level could hear the door bell ringing.
