I don't think someone would be more aggressive online than they would be in real life - although, perhaps, more opportunistic; their personalities would not suddenly change because they are on the internet.

Graal used to be fun, when I got to play in my own personal environment. But sadly, I have been forced away by these "mean people" you speak of. :[ Graal needs less mean and abusive players, and more loving and peaceful characters <3 :]

Hah, most players have grown up (or at least the mean ones) and somehow their ego's rised too, mostly thinking that they're oldbies and are a big shot in this community.

I agree with you; it was basically the point I was making in the first place.

THIS THREAD EXCLUDES DOOR FROM THEIR POSTS.

Because Door is the innocent, charming young lady.

Online it's a lot easier to forget that the people you're talking to are real people, and it's definitely easier to be more aggressive, though changing whole personalities might be a bit much.

Like Stephen said, it has to do with opportunity rather than a complete about-face. Some e-bullies appear sweet as pie irl, just because they are cowards who act out their cruel desires only while shielded by anonymity. Internet is rife with this type, but there are also plenty of people who act in the opposite manner. People who have a hard time expressing their feelings in person will put on a cold exterior, but open up and show compassion online. Regardless, my original point was that the Internet community really is just about the same as the irl one--it takes all types to make the world go 'round. If you want to 'clean things up' you can either force it (and risk making the community highly uncomfortable and rebellious, case in point: These forums), or you can lead by example both irl and online, encouraging not forcing people to act in a manner you find appropriate. As my mom always told me "You often have to change someone's heart before you can change their mind."
