I'm good in math, they just don't offer calculus to freshmen.

It would be cool if you actually had trading cards to fit the servers themselves. Say on Zodiac. That way you could have a few zodiac theme'd cards which deliver a bonus more suited to Zodiac. One bonus could give your character a special follow-me <something> npc.

Yes we plan more trading cards which can also give items or effects on single servers. We wanted to start with a few effects that work on any server so people can have fun no matter on which server they play.

As for disabling them, perhaps a certain function which turns them off for things like events/spars.

On Zodiac, Era and Unholy Nation it uses the local effect stuff. On other servers we could may be add a check for a serverr. or clientr. flag to disable it ?

Is that player displayed correctly (small, stealth mode) ? May there is some problem with the textures or so, it could be possible to disable them in the Graal options, then you will not see your own effects either though.

The effects themself don't give any advantage beside the graphical effect. Of course it can be a help in hide-and-seek, but it wont help in spars. Also the stealth effect makes your "blink" so it shouldn't be that hard to identify a player who is using that effect.

You can hardly see stealthing players of snow.
About that screenshot, well, I kinda found out that it might be the size of my client window, maybe the size of the client window of the player who has the effect. But it acts like it is actually made smaller, and everything not inside is cut off, not shown and so on.

gemini2 01-05-2008 10:41 PM

Yeah, Chompy made a custom name system, and when you were in a level with a seteffect, this was actually visible, as it would show a minimized seteffect in the level when you moused over the player.
I'll rustle up a screenie of Caleb will let me use the names system again.

How about an array of levels to disable card effects in in the serverops?

You should buy a dictionary instead of wasting your money on those cards.

Trading cards can be traded if you don't have full sets yet :)

Ummmm exactly how many did you buy? I have a lot leftover but i have all my sets done. Each set is made up of 4 different colors. I suggest you check shop>cards to see if you have any sets completed (they will be lit up if you did complete one) otherwise you just need more gelats to finish the sets.

I don't really play any other servers besides Zone, but there's issues with it there, too. Stealth blinking doesn't have much to do with making them easier to see, considering on Iricia they blend in almost perfectly with the background. It's a nuisance even one on one (in an unofficial spar, I suppose) because your eyes keep slipping over them and the jerk gets behind you and nails you with a greenrifle or some other weapon of mass lameness x-x...

I've also gotten a lot of lag since they were uploaded, but it could just be coincidence. Is there going to be a way to disable the effects in the next client?

xAzerothx 01-22-2008 11:47 PM

People who pay get an advantage, which makes people happy, which then causes people to spend more money on Graal. They won't change this. If you disable the cards then what's the point of even spending money?

Like someone said (in this thread, or another maybe? Not sure), most games are either free with things you pay for an advantage, or cost a subscription fee.

Graal you pay for an advantage AND pay a subscription fee.

I can certainly see how the new gelat shops could bring in some money, but they need to figure out what their game plan is.

xAzerothx 01-23-2008 02:19 AM

They seem greedy.

They're just trying to support the game, and that's fine with me.

I just wish they worked on their tactics. I'd be willing to pay more per year/month, etc if it meant none of this gelat crap.

The GK problems are not based on the price.. rather on the quality ;(

Higher prices are okay, but especially the dollar/euro currency seems unfair.
Developers Gold is 60 Dollars = 40 Euros, for Europeans its 60 Euros.

Stefan told me they have to pay taxes for european people, but a 20 euro difference?! Jesus!

DesolateRestriction 03-11-2008 06:26 AM

These cards should strictly be limited to gold servers and maybe some type of addition to graal games section. I really do not support global NPCs on classic servers.:D

I have to agree here. Our at least prior agreement with the classic servers [scripters].
