I do not know why so many people here are adamant in defending that it's a good system because it detects any programs open that are used for memory editing. So what? I can play World of Warcraft with a memory editor open, good thing they have a competent programming team/enforcement team to keep me from getting instantly banned because I have something they don't like open.

How about the cheat program detection is improved so it's actually viable at detecting if people are cheating, or how about it's removed?

Cheating engines can be set so they aren't detected. Otherwise hacking would be virtually impossible with them.

Twinny 10-23-2007 06:59 AM

The fact that it tells RC when any program is open seems to just be cutting corners. When Graal detects the folder is open, it should kill the folder and simply say, "Graal does not tolerate cheating" instead of currently telling RC that the person is actively cheating. It should try and detect if it's being manipulated via external programs rather than, "player has bad program open! must be cheating!".

Googi 10-23-2007 07:05 AM

Just make hack-detection scriptable and let the playerworlds decide how they want to handle things themselves.

Inverness 10-23-2007 07:47 AM

I fully agree with Twinny on all points, and I believe that if you're opposing him then it is just because it didn't happen to you. Or that you're ignorant. Or a douchebag.

Going to http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...98#post1353698 while playing Graal is a perfect example of how the system is flawed.

Besides, its not like Twinny even needs to cheat on Graal, hes much more power already than some silly memory editor could give him.

I'm allowed to do whatever the **** I want with offline games or other programs on my computer including using memory editors on them.

Maybe that would apply to you. But for Twinny, like I said, he has no reason to manipulate Graal. Its almost like saying Global Staff would need to manipulate Graal for some reason, which is absurd.

Crow 10-23-2007 01:58 PM

Well, as far as I know, W**ld of W**c**ft only detects if the memory of the game is actually changed, not if something is open. But still, if that happens, the game doesnt shut down, it just sends the data to Bl**z**d, and you might get banned sooner or later.
I dont know if something like that would be possible with Graal, but I think it would be better if it would detect if the memory editor is used to manipulate Graal, or is just open.
About the "Memory Editor" string not sending messages to the RC clients, that also happened with the 2.x clients, so its probably something left over from back then.

Twinny 10-26-2007 06:12 PM

Yay at the lack of response. Let's put this simply:

Unless you catch someone hacking the client red-handed i.e. you see them changing values, they shouldn't be banned. Banning people for having programs opened on their computers is plain wrong.

All I was implying is to not hack other games and to have Graal closed at the time.

"Nuff said" (I think)

In a house on a street in a town/city [in a county in a state/province (if applicable)] in a country on a continent on Earth. And the green grass grew all around and around! [/sarcasm]

Would you go do something for me if I talked to you that way? I don't think so. You should learn how to better ask things from people because being hostile and demanding rarely gets you anywhere in life unless you have power behind your words (which still rarely gets you anywhere in life).

Mark Sir Link 10-29-2007 11:34 PM

quick lets make him guilty till proven innocent!

Crow 10-30-2007 04:23 PM

If he would work for Blizzard, he would atleast know that WoW doesnt scan for such a small piece of a title, and also that it doesnt scan for titles at all usually.

He meant for Graal...

Crow 10-30-2007 10:32 PM

I was still refering to this post. Well, if you wanna say he wants to say that Graal detected that, just the same thing. Graal doesnt search just for "Mac", neither for "Macro".

grawlgamer 10-31-2007 04:16 AM

Oh.. I didn't put in to thought off line games :noob:

Rufus 11-07-2007 11:59 PM

This still needs looking into.

Sheen_the_mage 11-08-2007 12:11 AM

Gee, it sure it boring around here *opens graal client in transhexlation than changess days left of gold to the hex of FF*
Mah Boi! manipulating my client with a simple hex editor sure it easy.
(Dont worry, I didnt actually edit my Gold because *I SUPPORT GRAAL* but I am pointing out how easy it is to extend your gold without paying)

Somehow I'm sure the server would be checking your gold amount against its value rather than the client .

Graal dodged a bullet there....

Twinny 11-08-2007 01:06 AM

I don't want that post, regardless of it's stupidity, to get this thread closed :frown:

Rufus 01-21-2008 01:01 PM

Still no fix :(

Darklux 01-21-2008 02:35 PM

Not many viable things to 'hack' in that game.....almost everything is run serverside, including movement. All incoming data is checked thoroughly and is logged You could only change cosmetic things... I have doubt on your story!

j/k :p

When I got banned first time on Era, it was 10 yrs.

Eventually I made a support ticket and got myself unbanned.

Both images come from different sources. Both are probably somebody elses.
You can edit the look of how many items you have but the server won't be fooled.

Enough about that crappy game, anyways!

It's bad (get some) advertising (for Graal).

Why did you have to revive this thread to say that? :whatever:. Please leave my old threads in peace.
