I tried shading it as a whole and it just looked awkward, coreys cube looks good but when you divide it into little square it looks really weird. This is what I was asking about in my post.

Except...you know...good.

I will work on the outlines although if you have ever looked at a rubiks cube there are black spaces in between each cube. The black outlines were also helpful in the fact that whichever color I chose to go over them looked like there was more of that color in the general scheme of the cube.

If I could get some more help on how to shade a cube as a whole even when there are little divided sections that would be much appreciated. I will work on it some more.

You can't outline each section in black, that's all - because in real life these are defined by shade differences, not big black floating lines.

The shading was something I read about on an isometric website and it was kind of different but I am not sure if it worked. I wasn't sure how to shade an entire cube with individual segments in it so if you know how to do that please post it.

Looks very nice, but seems too much of something ... not sure what. Boxy or uniform, something like that. The little tiles don't look like tiles enough; they look like they're all connected versus having space in between.

Besides that, very nice!

Technically, the black lines SHOULD be there but they seem odd and out of place.

the lines are quite small and when you zoom it out they will disappear eventually, I took a picture of my rubik's cube and then zoomed it far out on fireworks and it eventually vanished. :/

Ya, you have to think of the resolution. In his pixel one pixel(which the black line would be made of is equivalent) is equivalent to 1/4 the size of the small cubes in a rubic's cube. In his case darker outlines may give the feeling of black lines, while doing justice to the resolution.

I tried getting rid of the black lines and it just looks like a green square side, there is no difference in the cube sections. I also tried the lines in Dark green and it just looks like black.

This is a simple problem, and I'm afraid the solution is equally simple. I can think of two off hand.

The squares look to round and they don't shine, like hard, smooth plastic.
