Huzzah, a double post! Anyways, there's one "example" that I can post just to show the general idea (for those who haven't understood it yet).

This is the level I use for scripting it, I've hidden all GUIs and everything to not show any sneak peaks yet :D

NOTE: This is a TILED level, not a graphic. I will post a scenery later on when we get one finished.

I'm confused, are you going to have a tileset to make scenery with or are you wanting to have people create like a background image for it?

That image shows a very good example on how a scenery CAN be made. :)

i like the idea of zooming players
but it looks ugly in graal :O
my question is who will be gfx the battle backgrounds ? XD
i think there is nobody in graal who can gfx things like this fitting with graal and let them look good ^^

Angelu, there are a few folks that have the ability to do something of this nature.

Shakram 07-18-2007 05:44 PM

who ? :O
and will they work for them ?
its like you want a pirat theme server but nobody has fun to gfx the ships ^^
to do quality battle backgrounds is a hard work
the only thing i want to say first find the guys who gfx this things than script it

xXziroXx 07-18-2007 06:23 PM

I've nearly scripted it 100%, and, I do have skilled enough graphics artist working with me. :)

You didn't see all of the ships Sandz or I have made in the past 6 months. :D

Seems like a cool idea, but are the other party members going to be player controlled, or is each player going to have their own party of characters?

The way I've scripted it, partys can be filled with both players and NPCs, and AI isn't really all that tricky to script in turn based. Each player will be able to control themself in combat, of course.

Here's an example on how the perspective will look.
