I bet they are gonna decide against changing the payment system when v6 comes out. I seriously hope they don't though, I don't want to see Graal PC die due to no one wanting to pay. If they changed it in v6 to free with a cash shop and advertised it to the thousands of iPhone players, many more people would join PC as the gameplay is much more than on iPhone.

Agreeing a 100%.

Hey, I'm just hoping for any kind of advertisement.

Look. At least we show on mmorpg.com, 5.95 hype, but some bad feedback as of late.

If the upcoming payment/subscription model change allows servers to retain more active players, then a simple mention on the iPhone and word of mouth should be all the game needs.

iPhone players are coming to PC and many are well aware of it but choose to continue to play iPhone instead. The most common complaint is due to the cost.

They don't need to spend stupid amounts of money trying to advertise and attract player-count when the servers (gameplay-wise) them self can't even support more than 200 players concurrently on their own.

I'm also hesitant to believe a mention on "mmorpg" or other stupid listing site actually makes a difference.

itt: beating dead horses.

If we had advertising on iPhone servers the players would flood into PC Graal like a tsunami

Shards-Of-Fate 03-15-2011 02:53 AM

Debatable. Lol

Probably. All the players would roll over levels and start "glitching" and "selling codes" until the PC players fled to the, now deserted, iPhone servers.

Ill have to agree with WaDaFack; Honestly look at the servers. We have alot of Empty servers. I mean look. Era is doing Great. Now you have a buntch of servers trying to have guns and be like era. We lost a great deal of family members to graal and i say the last thing that can be done is probably come up with a solution as a whole. Graal started a long time ago and we're loseing more good people everyday. Somethings gotta give, specially for who is still here today. Still here! Graal is on iphone. COOL! Graal is on Facebook, COOL! So what, PC has to get it together! We came this far. Cut down these servers. Or maybe its a bad idea? Atleast WaDaFack, is trying something. I agree with em!

The fact is...GK and Zone are Garbage...Well not worth the value that they are being pushed as. Graal does need to return to what it used to be...At the moment Graal is probably making most of its money off UC servers where people pay to "create their own world". But lets face it most of your good developer's have either left or are working on projects...Graal used to be full of Developers...Now there is just a handful...

kia345 04-22-2011 05:19 PM

The fact is...

Graal is not a good enough product to be priced anywhere near the prices one would expect to pay to play an online game, especially given that the content you're paying for is controlled by other paying customers.

As an underground and relatively free game (lol), Graal could be seen as an admirable impressive bastion of indie developers and the "art" of game design for fun rather than profit (lol).

As a facebook/iPhone/p2p PC game, Graal is just another Bejeweled.

Crono 04-22-2011 06:08 PM

ppl lost focus on what graal actually is and why this pricing scheme failed to begin with

cyberjoueurs dont/didnt even know it, despite us repeating it multiple times. just let them spend ~6 years realizing something we did in a month and go with the flow. really, that is my advice. just let them do their own thing.

Graal needs more players. The price of the game is way too high right now. Very low player counts aren't going to change unless the price is right.
Graal should have some sort of completely free classic server. It would act like a bug zapper (where it would attract tons of people and take their money) and bring back the value to the game. People would be drawn to the free classic server and Graal can advertise other servers that have micro-transactions.

Think of it this way.
You go to the park once a week to play pickup soccer games with whoever is there. The games you play are on an adequate field, but you have no uniforms or referees. Next to the field you play on is a nice fenced in field with stadium lighting, bleachers, structured teams with uniforms, and referees. A lot of people first start out just playing pickup games, but then they desire some fancier aspects of the sport and decide to pay a fee to get the referees, access to the field, a real team, and referees. If the nice field wasn't in sight of the free field, most of the people who moved to the nice field would have never decided to switch because they were happy enough with what they had. Since they saw the nicer field, however, they thought they would enjoy themselves more if they paid the fee to get into the nicer field.
