There should only be remnants of an old server if you rented a server on that account before.

Never hired a server before, but there were staff assigned, and alot of staffguilds, but that's normal i guess.

Yea, thats pretty weird, I just checked a few of the dev servers in waiting and all server ops are completely blank. I think they just normally put up a default set when rented.

Don't waste your money dude. Just telling you now, your server will get no where. There is no help for upcomming servers. You buy a server, make some stuff, get critiqued to hell and back from the players "USUK" "UR SERVER BLOWS" and then it dies. Money wasted, time wasted, everything wasted.

It's incredibly hard to make a succesful server. There are practically no devs, if they are they have their "own" project. I find it rather ironic people complaign about no updates etc from Graal, but do little to nothing to get a server going that everyone will enjoy. In the past 3 years Zodiac is the only server to make it Classic, out of 150+. I'll stick with the odds on this one.

This. But instead of giving up, add your talents to an already existing server.

Then give your friend the advice we just gave you? If he has a good idea, throw it in with Name's project or apply for a job at Era.

That's not really how it happens, of course. You most likely just had a terrible setup if that's how your 'server renting' experience was. x_x

GDT offers assistance as you know, iSlayer. If you get no responses and regard to your requests for development help, contact Soala or a PWA member. I wouldn't listen to some of these discouragements, do what you want, it's your money. Just plan ahead, well.

Have a development team ready (Even if not full sized.)
Development Plans/Direction (Know what you want on your playerworld, instead of making things along the way. Never works out well.)
