Announcement: Word Filter

As many of you are probably aware of, Stefan has introduced a new word filtering system. The sole purpose of this system is to prevent harassment. It is unfortunate that we must have a system like this, since I truely believe each and every human is capable of knowing not to harass people, but I guess I either was wrong or people tend to ignore that thought in their head. This system is working good, but what I don't like seeing is people testing the system. Tseng and I have already temp. banned about two people for excessive swearing, which shouldn't be happening. This post is being posted as an awareness for the common people. I don't want to ban any people for 'testing the system', it works, don't swear, don't get in trouble, it's as simple as that.

1st warning for exessive swearing: 1-5 days, depending on how extreme
2nd warning : 1 - 2 weeks, again; depending on how extreme
3rd warning : permanent ban

However, even though I have posted this, if we, the people who keep the server clean by acting as staff, interpret a case to be so extreme that they need to jump to the 2nd or 3rd warning level instead of the 1st, we will not hesitate to ban for a longer period of time or ban permanently. Again, I wish such a system didn't have to exist, but I think this is for the best, and I hope we can help keep this game cleaner.

This would normaly good, but how do I know that I won't be warned for "testing the system" when I say something like "fug"?

LMAO, THIS IS SO FRIGGIN DUMB. HAHAHA. OK, first off, reason 1 why this is stupid... When I say assassin, theres 2 counts of cussing. When somebody who DOESNT VIEW FORUMS, they wouldnt know...

The assassin bug is being discussed, one idea was to link the list to a dictionary, minus the swear words, if it matches a word there then it doesn't get filtered.

May I point out something, the people who think this is stupid are the people who act immature, notice this guy can't even follow a simple forum filter. This system is just trying to keep people like him from ruining the quality of the community.

Spacing out the words does _not_ work

Whenever wee say a cussword does it go to a log? and what does testing the system mean?

Of course it goes to a log, but I am willing to bet that staff will never check them unless looking for a reason to ban someone.
By testing the system, he means sitting there saying things to see if they are *****d out or not.

Hah, Jagen, I'm simply pointing out the flaws in your / whomevers idea(s). The simplest flaw is the way a human mind and the way it works, but the people whom think up theorys, dont get flamed for their opinions, so I therefore would like you to not flame me. Mind you, by flaming me, you are violating the forums rules in no-flames. Of course, I'd like to see you pull an excuse out of your ass, so I'll let you do so, with of course Tsengs help.

Oh, and mind your manners WL, they only do that to Torankusu without warning, like the rules state.

How about non-obscene words? That's a pretty good rule to follow. If you don't use any obscene words, then you won't need to worry about getting in trouble for it.

I think it's a good idea, but I also see problems as the above mentioned ones, for one words containing swearwords like assassin or such, and also the usage of such words in an rp-context - as in "I worked by ass off to get this house built." I wonder whether any system can sort these undertanities out - I wouldn't want to get banned for something that wasn't meant the way it was interpreted, and even used in a way the server is meant to encourage.
