Suggestion: Dodge System

Zone is a futuristic server, so I think we should start enhancing the combat system. Currently, there is not many good/cool ways of dodging bullets.

Suggestion:

I think a dodge system should be created, where a player can jump to the sides and to the front and back in order to dodge bullets. Either that, or some sort of dodging system to enhance the gun battles.

When I say jump to the side, I mean that you should be able to tap key combinations to sort of jump to either the front, back, left side, or right side. Jumping to the sides wouldnt be like a normal jump, because what good would that do? Also, the height that you get off the ground should only be high enough for you to get a full/good/decent jump.

The dodging gani(s) should look sort of like as if you had your feet planted on the ground, then you stretch your body to the side and then kick off with your feet, sending you to one of your sides or front or back in a quick motion.

Would make doding bullets a bit easier and would be quite entertaining.

Also, while dodging you should be able to shoot. Meaning you could jump to your side and shoot and so forth. Some diving action and some rolls would be cool. 007 style

Would be fun, I think

What in the world does your comment have to do with ANYTHING?

Stefan does the scripting. I think he even has some level/gani skills also. Anything he can't do, he has the help of people who can.

Well, it was on topic...seeing as how you're suggesting a system that requires scripting...and I was simply taking an opportunity to point out that there still isn't any other staff. *Shrug*

Since when did Stefan NEED help in scripting anything? I'm sure he's asked for help to get things done faster, but I doubt he's ever really needed it in the sense that he couldn't make something.

I wouldn't approve of anyone else scripting anything for Zone anyways. Unless it was from a GST member that knew what they were doing.

I'm sure all of zones systems are well scripted and I want the future ones to be well scripted also.

Take your jealousy comments elsewhere.

i think the doging would be cool like that

plus with the shooting while your dodging it makes it better

(maybe when you hit the ground (from dodgeing) you should roll, and you shouldn't be able to shoot during the rolling part

I don't think the way the combat on Zone works you would be able to do that. Although if you think you can do it you should give it a try and put it on a test server to see how some players like it.

Nothing wrong with off-topic posts.

This dodging system should only work with the strafe button held down. Your player dives in the direction you press and you can shoot while dodging IF HOLDING PISTOLS.

If you're holding a chaingun or any big gun, you can't dive period.

Maybe limit it so you can only dodge so as long as you have one hand free or so?

Or, you can only dodge with small weapons. You wouldn't be able to with like a chaingun for example.

People that are interested could do some ganis for doding / jumping to the side, shooting and rolling
