Alchemy item recipes?

What recipes are out there that still work (and we have the items for) that make the alchemy items like mithril?

Wheee! List-making time...

Below is a list of SOME, and I do stress SOME (not all), of the ingredients I've found in alchemy recipe books...

THAT HAVEN'T BEEN ADDED TO THE GAME:

giant bat's wing
ghost's ectoplasm
xan's wing
dragon's steak
zombie's corpse
lich dust
hill giant's hand
goblin's liver
skull's tongue
pixie dust
woman's head
beholdereye
snake's skin
apple (yes, it's in the game, but it's VERY rare except possibly through Create Food... and CF won't let you put it in a cauldron)
fire para-elemental's residue
dragon scale
ice para-elemental's residue
orc's heart
chinese dragon's steak
madam's corpse
sage's head
madman's head

Interesting list, no? WE NEED THESE ITEMS ADDED!!! We need the creatures that produce these items added...

To answer your question, just a few of the currently working recipes in the game are:

(pile/bottle) of philosophical (sulfur/salt/phosphorus/oil)
water of the wise
dust of biren's mist
mercury
dust of concussion
dust of ignition
water of (ruby/sapphire/diamond/emerald)

Please note that none of these are actually useful... sure, the dusts may or may not work... but it's cheaper and easier to just buy spellbooks. I mean, you're an alchemist, right? You can obviously use magic...

The first set of recipes (the philosophicals and water of the wise) are profitable. Take seven piles/bottles/waters of the appropriate type, place in cauldron, boil. Mercury isn't. Dust of Concussion isn't. Dust of Ignition requires three diamonds. So obviously it isn't either. The waters of gems aren't, since you only get one water per three gems and you can sell the gems themselves to alchemists and/or weapon-users for more money.

I dunno but would someone add a list of alchamy recipies to the forums so new alchamists can try them out?

If there is a thread made for the recipies already can someone show me there?

I also feel someone about to say "buy the recipies yourself lazy.", I would do that if they appeared in a shop, But it seems they don't get sold anymore....maybe someone gets there meathooks on it before me....or that part of the game is being worked on.....so many complaints in a month....could stefan be moving ahead too fast with making better and better graal servers?

Maybe there would be the constant need for someone to want even the smallest of changes to an already good server?

Maybe the gerbil is making me type too much now?....

Two things: for one, spreading rare recipes can have negative effects on the economy, and I think it would be a nice touch to quarter the chance of success if a player hasn't actually read a recipe in-game. Second, These items can't be added that easily, they need the apropriate monsters (and systems - see flying creatures). Rather remake it and use those avaliable. I believe this has already been done, and just wasn't added yet.

Satrek, you couldn't be more right about ruining the economy. I do, however, disagree (conditionally) with you about remaking current recipes.

Many many of us have already bought recipe books that list the above ingredients. If the current ingredients are remade, our books (which are often very expensive) will be worthless... UNLESS the contents of the books WE ALREADY HAVE can be changed, so that we can read them again and see the correct items.

I doubt if that's possible though. If it IS possible, I'd support that, for reasons I'll keep to myself... it probably has to do with the list Chris has, if it's the same list I have.

And Gravator... no one was about to say "buy them yourself lazy." I am, however, about to say "search the forums yourself lazy." Search for the keyword "recipe" or "philosophical" and make sure to search all posts, not just recent ones.

I don't know whether it's possible to change the contens of the current recipe-books avaliable. Maybe current items yould be used to substitute the missing items, with a kind of 'translation book' avaliable somewhere (demon's tongue = madman's head or something). I don't know the system, but I see your point. But I doubt that these items will be added the old fashioned way anytime soon - that'd require hill giants, dragons, orcs, sages, madmen, goblins, and surroundings fitting for each of them. You'd also need holy symbols and residues. It's next to impossible a task to add them all.

If you've ever looked at the CF alchemy recipes file, it's not all that complex. It would probably require little effort to change it.

Anyone could just go to google and type in "crossfire" and find the game's site... for those who are lazy, they can just click here.

Here I wrote some stuff about how I used to work on alchemy, to fix it, and there are other assorted alchemy-related posts in that topic.
