I had that exact same problem... Finally, I just swapped name with a file that would load for gani creating purposes. In Graal, the image was displayed just fine.

Twaina has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Uhm i make so i make the gani then i add spirit i cant see i save the gani under desktop same with the image close the shop.Then i start again and open it again i can use image its easy...and if u dont want some work make the image in gif png exact 8 bit try it with gif it works!

I still don't quite understand what the issue is; You try loading the images n such yet they won't load, try putting the image in the Graal Folder, not just the special spot and try to make it load and if it doesn't work then I got no idea what to tell ya.

Try dragging the image from your folder into graal shop.
