Level

Here's something I started, but did not finish.
It's an actual LEVEL, town...it has a point.
The top isn't complete...don't cry about that.
Figured I'd just upload it.

Thanks , why doesn't anyone like the straight path? I like it. Maybe it shouldn't be default tiles, but that has nothing to do with it being straight...

... its nice. Kinda feel like it lacks detail >.>

Anyhow I don't have anything against straight pathways but than they shouldn't be done with predefined tiles... like making your own graphics for it would be nicer. Like a pathway with nice stone slabs or something and specks of grass on the edges.... Notting wrong with that but with default tiles it just looks so.. unpleasant to look at >.>

Knuckles, what the hell have you been up to after Frolics sudden death anyhow?

I don't make graphics - and I wasn't going to have graphics made for just one level and I don't think it lacks detail for an actual town. Although it could be more detailed, I think that to much detail ruins a PLAYABLE level. If it was a level with the purpose of just something to look at, then fine-detail it as much as you want. But if it's going to be played on, it shouldn't be over detailed... Like I said, the level serves a purpose.

I think most levels now a days are way over detailed and they don't allow much movement of the player.

I wanted to make a plain, simple level, which I feel like I accomplished.
I see where you're going with you point of lack of detail, but thats just your opinion.

As for where I've been:
I lost interest in Graal for awhile. Went and pursued my Counter-Strike career...Then World-of Warcraft... then my life. I came back because I wanted to learn GScript2 and I have alot of spare time at COLLEGE.

As of now, i'm on Delteria Dev learning the new scripting language. Riot's helping me with the transformation...and i'm starting to get back into WOW.

Thought people would understand the sarcasm of counter-strike career.
...Exactly. Classical, plain, simple...with some detail. Some spice.
And if I was talking about your level detail, it was probibly because your level needed more detail...lol

...but what I did say was:

Quote:
It's a nice level.
Just need alittle work tileing grass.
Which means that I think you need to work on that. You can see the difference between my grass detailing and yours.

Way too plain. :/

Not feelin the straight paths. Get a little more creative on your housing exteriors.

Everything seems to be scattered out

3.5/10

It's scattered out so that players actually have the ability to move around in the level...

Why would a player want to move around in this level?

All the placements are rather random and given no thought. A cliff like that would not be just sitting 10 feet from the water. If there is a cliff by water, the water will work its way to the base of the cliff.

Im sorry man I just doing like the whole layout or thought process going on in this level.

It is well thought out--
You haven't seen the surrounding levels, or the layout.
You have no idea why the level was made, or the reasons for the paths.

Like I said, it's not just a level for SHOW. It actually has a point.
If it were just to be pretty, you'd see alot of things differently...you'd see something like the level i'm attaching.
