I think Draenin was trying to draw Kaimetsu out by insulting him. Unfortunately Kai would see through this ploy so it does not matter.

There was a chain resignation after BirdBird quit being manager where the manager position was passed to the next-highest 2K1 staff member who then promptly resigned. Kaimetsu just happened to be one link in that chain. He never took 2K1 in any "direction".
