No, there'd be some bits of wreakage left. Well since this wreakage will also dift away in reality make it with a set time limit. Like disapears after a couple of minutes.
I know you'd probably hate this idea because you'd crash into the wreakage. But if your a good sailor. You'd be able to sail around it.

Maybe if you can craft some sort of pulling device such as a hook tied to rope? You can salvage the wreckage? Claim the wooden boards used from it and add them to your own personal collection for repair. It is a way to leech health from ships you have sunk. Maybe you can get a few other surprises as well such as diamonds and treasure! hell whatever gets you guys on the water so I can destroy you.

If you use the pulling device on the water you can claim the boards from the ship...if you are lucky treasure such as jewels and other various things..and you can also get a killmark trophy with the ship's name on
