What i talked to Stefan about!!!!!
POLL SECTION!!!
Early today on UN Dev, stefan and i had a good chat.I asked him if in the near future would it be possible to send and recieve data from a web server to graal. So that i could implement this script to work with graal online and you could have your own guild system like graal onlines.Stefan had implied that it was a interesting idea and if he can do it thier would be some type of restriction/protection but he would have to talk to unixmad first. So what do you think a good idea?

Hmmm... we've been trying to get external graal commands for quite some time. Angel once used the old RC protocol and made her own bot that communicated with the NPC Server and stored things in a database and such. It was quite interesting.

I just think it would be a good idea if local servers can make different systems like this making them more independant.

I did something like that a while back, it copied RC text into irc, and from irc to RC.

Not a bad idea at all. This would be pretty cool I think.

Btw, it isn't Graal's first vB hack. Unixmad is a hax0r.(no not really, just had added a few mods to the forums before)

I think he means so you can hold the graal servers information on a webspace?
Like, top 100kills automatically updates every 5 seconds or so?
Not to sure if he means this, but this would also be a cool suggestion :P...

The hack is basicly guild control, only it also creates vbulletin forums for the guild, and add tags to the accounts, and a few other options. He wants Stefan to add the ability to request data most likely via mysql, so that playerworlds will no longer have to use a ingame based guild adder/remover gui/npc, but a web based one, somewhat like the global guild control panel.

Ah, I think a web-based guild control for each playerworld would be great, but I don't see the need to link it to vBulletin at all. Well, most people are in more than one guild, so maybe instead just have a (in the player profile)

GUILD: _______ -Then players can just put what they want here, to match their guild. But I don't think forum sections for them would be used enough to make them worth while - and if they were they'd need moderating. For the normal user this isn't a problem, but personally I don't want a forum for myself being about 100pages long of inactive guild sections.

Guilds on Graal don't have that much of a purpose as they could do, so I don't think it would need a forum and if they did want a forum then no doubt one member has VIP to use vip.graal.net to setup something there (or an external host)

I like the idea of a web-based guild system for all playerworlds though, and adding to profiles under your name on the forum what guild your in.

I have talked with unixmad, we can add such a thing, but only allow communication with the website and database belonging to playerworld graal.net webspace, will need to create one for Unholy Nation. For communicating with websites and databases of other VIP/playerworld websites on graal.net there need to be some configuration tool for deciding which playerworld can access it, so you cannot steal information from other playerworlds or modify the unholy nation guild thing, but if you enable it then you can even share information between servers.
