New Maps!

Hi.

What do people think about adding new maps to Kingdoms?

If so, which sort of maps should be added? I don't think new additions to Kingdom islands, but perhaps entrances can be added there, but no real benefit to the Kingdom where its located at. Also, what should be in the new maps?

i'd say

Try a new island, Emerald island xD It had a volcano on it.
And every few minutes the island shakes like an earth quake. just for good effects.
And have npc battle boats (can be done) which guard the island trying to prevent people entering or leaving.

it would be good to see.
as on the island there is a quest for a hefty treasure. sinking those ships would also result in good treasures. all you need is a net (from easter) to bag up the fallen treasure from the destroyed ship, but be careful, the ship's work as a team and if one falls reinforcements be on it's way.

The island itself has many secrets, rigity caverns. the volcano is mainly for show but can be triggered in events by an admin to erupt and you could do an evacuation event. get off island asap!! and spawn npc shipsand monsters, make obstacles and so on.

Party maps, you HAVE to have at least 2 and up to 6 in the party, and to avoid abuse make the map kick you out if you disband the party.


Also introduce magic strong monsters for the warriors and barbarians, and physical strong monsters for the mages and priests, perhaps give a large cave or house that branches off, the magic users go one way, physical members go the other and kill their respective weak to them monsters.


And one big monster that can stand toe to toe with even the most powerful person, so having a nice group could give you a chance at beating this monster, a grand lord of sorts. (maybe another larger version of an existing monster or something entirely new?)

*Bump*

So, I've been working quite hard on new maps for Kingdoms, with a lot of -new- themes that involve the terrian. I won't list them out, because that'll take the fun out of surprises.

Though, one question, where should these new maps be located? These maps aren't ones that can be digged up and shoveled to enter, these maps are new locations, like the main island and kingdom islands.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Why not make the lower levels of the dungeons worth entering for more than just the 5 plat savings? Make there be an entrance to an ancient temple, or some other thing down there, and POPULATE THE DUNGEON WITH (new) ENEMIES.

It's really lame to walk for so long and just see walls and floors.

I like the new maps idea, but butz is right. You guys also need to fill up the unused space that GK has.

If you put the dark hearts, dark crosses or something of that nature as drops.
You could take these items and make an alchemy cloak, or maybe a couple different ones.
Maybe add a black one in. =D

Well, the maps look quite nice, right.

Though, I agree, it's boring just to see new maps, even though it looks good, but nothing in it.

That's the reason I'm asking for ideas and suggestions, to see what would be added to the new maps, to make things more fun on Kingdoms.

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions, I'll attempt to encorporate those things into the new maps, but please, suggest more if possible. Details are nice too.

Edit: Grirahan suggested some sort of underwater map. Something that would look like underwater, but I'm thinking how it would fit into the game? I mean, humans can't just go underwater for that long. Though, from what I heard, Kingdoms was about bomies coming from some spaceship and occupied the islands? So I'm guessing we can make some item that is gained from the bomies to make it possible to go underwater? Could benefit Zormite or add some new features to the game as well.

Forest Terrian
Lava Terrian
Wasteland Terrian (Desert)

If ideas are given, plus, what can be on these maps, that would be awesome.

I won't post screenshots within this thread till I feel that it's time.

There's tons of monsters out there in the mudlib, just pick any of those that haven't been implemented yet and try to fit them in. It'd be nice though if we got some monsters whos e battle plan involved more than either walk up and hit me, or stand there and shoot at me.

Why not a feral panther in one of them that will charge at players with a pounce, and generally run around to avoid being hit? It could run around for a bit, and be vulnerable once in a while when it has to stop and take a rest for a short time.

And if you're going to have beach areas, there needs to be a CRAB BATTLE.

beach terrain should have crabs and maybe some jellyfish that wash up on shore and shock you when you get close.

Beach Terrian

Crashed ships, debris along the shores, maybe a lighthouse?

Pirates, Water Elementals, Blue Dragons, Giants, Colossus

Forest Terrian

In a forest area you would probably find forts for orcs and goblins, with treasure of some sort guarded by the leader, also dragons would live in caves and roam randomly, trolls would randomly roam, Earth elementals would randomly roam, elves would be hiding if possible.

Elves, Trolls, Orcs, Goblins, Green Dragons, Earth Elementals

Lava Terrian

volcanos, lava flows, fire columns jetting out from random spots which damage you.

Fire Elementals, Red Dragons, Balors(big demons which use fire swords and cast fire magic), Fire Giants

Wasteland Terrian (Desert)

Oasis areas, quicksand traps; hideouts for bandits, towers for mages, dragon dens.

Bandits, Blue Dragons, Mages, War Elephants, Wind Elementals, Titans

Good luck, hope to see some new fun things on Graal Kingdoms that may attract new and old players back.
