RC file download error

Recently, whenever I try to download anything that is not an image, RC shuts down on me (as in I get the whole "Remote Control has stopped working, Windows is trying to find a solution" error - you know the one). The file still downloads, but it doesn't open. Also, dragging/dropping works just fine. I have tried re-installing Graal, deleting filenamecache, deleting the RC config file, changing the compatibility settings (which make it stop working all together), changing the download folder and even re-installing RC itself. None of these have worked. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?

Try clearing your %TEMP% folder, Graal likes to store things in there before copying to where they're supposed to be.

If you have an AV with real-time protection try disabling it as well or adding the extensions of files to the list of exclusions you're downloading to it.

I've had issues with earlier versions of Graal and Microsoft Security Essentials probably because of the way it was packed but it affect the loading times of the program.

Try going into Safe Mode with Networking and trying RC there, if it works then you should be able to narrow down the program causing the crash.

You can also try renaming RemoteControl2 to something else like RC2.

Renaming it worked. Thanks a lot!
