I'd like to think that we use Tolkien and other lore as a guideline; something solid to use when Graal's history of it fails.

In this situation, "Debalgio", you fail, not Graal's history.

I can't say anything not already said.. in other words **** N00B !!

Graal is defined well enough, we do not need the help of a book series to define our world. When that happens then the entire Drow thing happens.

Most people rely on Tolkien's language (Grey House Elven) to do most of the IC Elf talk; isn't that a situation where Graal is not defined enough and we use outside sources as guidelines?

Nope. Elves have already had a precedent set on Graal's 2k1/2k2 storyline, both in the form of Forest and older, less influential Elven kingdoms

I mean the actual language, not the structure of the Elfs in the RP world. The actual Elven language, when it's used properly, is from Tolkien, which is an example of us using outside sources as a guideline ;o

Yea, thats acceptable (until somebody with some sort of RP authority decides to define a specific graalian elven language for in-game use).

We arent using that source to shape how we RP though, or what we RP, its just a language that can be used until Graal decides to fill that aspect in. If ever (its not really that important IMO).

Actually, a character profile of Etien would show us that he believes himself to be too good and too right for the entire community's opinions to matter.

It's extremely funny how every thread initiated by Debaglio ends up being a humongous flaming war. Although in this case I have to side with the majority, which is something I almost never do.
