Thumbs up Backup tool

Some idea i had:
Make a command when you type in rc /savebackup filename
it save all files in file manager in a gz compressed file.
and /loadbackup filename
to load it back.
also for script, like copying and paste each script is annoying.
/savenpcsbackup filename
/loadnpcsbackup filename
so it save the file in levels folder and
allowed only to who have full rights online (it take processor time)
the scripts to be saved, db npcs, weapons.

I hope Stefan get this idea serious.

Agreed.

It would make it a hell of a lot easier to keep accurate backups if there were a way to save a RAR or gzip of everything...including the NPC database.

Too easy to abuse. If somebody has read access and gets pissed they could make a "backup" of everything and post it on the internet, give it to another server...I don't wanna give people ideas, but it could be bad.

I think we should trust that Unixmad make good and regular backups of his company's materials, so when things break he doesn't miss out on any new subscriptions to pay off Graal's debts.

he could make only staff with a specified "right" can use that tool.
staff have rights like "npc server" and "change ftp rights", there will be a new right "backup tool" and then only with it they can use the tool.

some script commands made easy to abuse (like with[blah], getplayer()), but made easy for staff to script.
there is always a soluction to solve abuse problems, just need
to do it right.
