Shifting Ages: Cave tiles, chat system, various things

Well, I promised last week I would show the chat stuff, and maybe some cave tiles. I decided to do so, so here they are. Give me some feedback on the cave tiles and the various other things.

Some details on the effects of some NPCs - the level notification has a very nice entrance, coming from the sides, and does not just appear in the center. It moves rather nicely and looks great coming in.

The chat system has a feature that "dodge" other bubbles, basicly the push each other away in order not to overlap. On the occasion that they do overlap, they will be drawn on different layers, so they do not merge.

Well, go ahead and look at the screenshot. Last week I promised to show this screenshot...but this time I will make no promise for next week. Sorry.

Nice chat system but I must say the walls looks like nice texture slaped accross a sideways polygon please add a little more depth to it.

Can you post a screen shot of the guy saying something longer than hello.
It looks as though it could take up a lot of space on screen, especially when lots of players are talking.
Ever thought about making the background transparent?

I can see it now...A spammer deicides to block the whole level by say llllllllllllllll 1000 times and I dont like how the rock is

Another reason I made that chat system - the max allowed width of it is 200 pixels, max allowed height is 5 lines, so it is not possible to spam.

It looks like the rocks have a world of there own (there too bright). The cave walls look to flat, which you can see clearly when they turn diagonally. Compared to whith everything else I see in there, the walls look too un-detailed. It also looks like the tree trunk is talking instead of the guy (if that is even a tree trunk, and if it is, whats it doing inside a cave?).

but i think the text is a little too big...will there be a way to change the size of it?

Hmm now that you mention it, because everything is drawn clientside, I can integrate that. I will be sure to add a "Options" section to adjust various things like that =)

The diagonal walls looks like wallpaper.

I don't know. I truly don't know how to fix those tiles. I was hoping for more things on the color, and contrast, maybe more shading. But the tiles themselves...I would need to redo them all together, and I really don't see that as needed. Can you guys be more specific on the problems?

As for the guys face...there is just no satifying anyone these days. I am scared to change it, because some people seem to like it. I really am not sure if some people have a grudge and are trying to make me feel bad, or some are actually serious.
