Doing clientside stuff upon logout is tricky and usually doesn't work out well.

How will you handle the building/destroying of land?

Unless your somehow going to make an infinitely~ spawning world like Minecraft.
Otherwise, wont all of the resources be used up almost immediately? :P

We are going to make an infinite map. Don't worry about it, we have it sorted.

Is wall collision detection working out well for you? I know sometimes there can be issues when making side-scrollers like being able to scale walls if the detection isn't just right.

Also, you should definitely try out a game called Spelunky if you guys are looking for more inspirational ideas. Spelunky is a roguelike set in a very deep set of caverns with varying themes and a lot of items that make a huge difference every time you get an upgrade. Might give you ideas for what kinds of weapons and items would be useful to include.

Here's some footage, along with hilarious commentary by my favorite user on youtube:

Nice video! Yeah it works perfectly well for me and other players, although a few (fulg0resama) have issues with being able to move.

I kind of don't like the movement. The physics seem stiff and the collision is a bit off. It's fine on the left side but when colliding on the right you collide like 4 pixels away from the block. Also you slide off the corners of blocks on the side, and you shouldn't(it's a good technique when the player is PUSHING against a block corner, but not when they're not actively applying their force against it, like when just sitting on the edge).

Update ~ Dusty
Fixed the movement system up a bit. The "getting stuck" bugs from before have been cleared up, and a few others too. The collision detection is near perfect now. Thanks for the help Dusty.

Update ~ Crow
Fixed the weak memory editing boundaries. Extra protection has been put in place to stop the movement being edited so easily. Thanks for letting us know and providing us with some entertainment yesterday.

Funny
0PiX0 sadly had to dash off after fixing the movement system, but I managed to get a clear estimate as to where he was dashing off to.
