Learning : Cliffing

Ok, I started a new thread because I thought it was best to leave the Cliffing Tutorial as a tutorial rather then me learning in there.

I tried what Wan said and tried making it 'bigger', I hope this is what you meant. Please don't rip me apart on this, I know it look poo, basic etc. and you could all do better, but meh, i'm trying.

If anyone knows what tiles to use to fix my errors that would be great.

Phil

I'm okay at doing clifftiles.
I attached 2 levels. level100.nw was done about a year or 2 ago, while the other was about a couple weeks ago (with a different tileset, but the cliffs are the same).

This could help you find the tiles. Just look at the second set of coordinates and search for them on the tileset. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much.

This will be incredibly helpful finding those odd tiles and getting the joints right.

I'll let you know how I get on

Is it just me, or do those cliffs contain tile errors? If I get a chance later on I'll post an example of how I go about doing cliff tiling.

What the hell? That looks like 3 different cliffs merged.

I don't advise anyone to use that on any level; it isn't exactly graal material.

The purpose of the document was to show that there is several ways of cliffing.

I don't like how you've connected your different levels of cliff...

Look at the tiles used to connect them in DarkShadows' level.
