I still claim it's 100% impossible to disprove or argue my theory that a level with the most amazing levels AND graphics ever and only very basic scripts, would still lose out to a server with pretty basic levels/graphics but beyond amazing script work.

Pretty only lasts for so long, and trust me, it's not very long at all.

It really depends what type of server you are going for. The "net-gen" servers that the top scripters of today are trying to make rely probably most of scripts then anything to make them innovative and advanced. Graphics are pretty important in general though...

But coming from personal taste: I hate looking at servers with little or no scripts. I rarely even go on another server because it doesn't have an amazing chat system (I hate having to watch Graal in case someone talks...chat history is much cooler).

You need graphics to do anything, end of. And dont bring up defaults, because that defeats the whole point of the arguement lol

A good scripter could totally code a fun game using only showpoly and light emitters.

I would do something large with showpoly for the heck of it but unfortunately its not actually rendered in 3D so its laggy with alot of them.

It's between NAT and GAT for me, but I voted GAT. I would play a server with only basic scripting but good graphics, but not a server that had terrible graphics however good the gameplay was. This is for the majority of Graal servers, there are of course some exceptions to the rule.

Except the majority of all Graal servers just suck completely in every department so you can't really use that...

Unfortunately true... one good thing about dev packs so far: atleast developers won't be so spread out.

You can make a really awesome server with just amazing scripts. You can't have a cool server without neat scripts. Even if the graphics were amazing.
