According to the weeks, I was voluntary responsible for the game police part, there seems to be everything alright with the server now.

About what the job as game police should be understand as, I was preventing players from cheating, hacking and locking players to protect the last few fair playing players on zone from that abusers, cheaters and hackers. Reports from my side to an admin with banning rights, especially at urgent or repetitively rule breaking and other inacceptable behaviors. And pooper20000 and I belive Jkool kind of aswell, where very pleased with how am I was doing that part.

I was treating everyone the same, since rules apply to everyone, and everyone has the same rights. No exception, just cause I know him, I dont like him or I do like him, that would totally spoil it.

But it is hard not to abuse the powers, thats as first a thing every staff member needs to be capable of handling, especially if the person needs those powers cause probably he'll never get a foot into the doors of zone, without having these powers and needs to abuse them for the own needs. Good thing I know im pretty skilled on ufzone, always was and ever will be, so those commands wouldn't serve me any use for my own doings.

But if I see people crying for events, which I cleary told, that I am not hired to host something, beg me for hours, I made something little every now and then and spoke with jkool about it. Since those things weren't part of my job and the people got it told, it just didn't reach far enough into the peanut brains.

Shows that handfull weirdos on zone prefer abbusive staff, hire that schwadgo123 or whatever hes called. That should statisfy the needs of those players.

Someone like "place a random name of random abusers in here" should also be taken in consideration. People seem to enjoy theyr glitching, and half the server gets on the fronts if theyr hero of cheating gets send on suspension for a week.

And finally you need someone, who knows tools, how they work, and where people can get em. Whenever there is a hacker around, people walk with him and find it funny what he does, oh look he walks trough walls and shoots ice like chaingun. Asking how he does it and where to get the tools, that guy just shares his programms with them.

That should be the best Team, for those weird bunch of people that nowadays play zone.

After I had the position and rights removed on my own enquiry, for a while, I wont take it back up, even if I still could. Cause I don't care about that game, especially about the majority of sick peoples that playing it, anymore.

Hackers have been around since I began playing Zone, though they never posed a threat since stats never truly mattered to me, I found them fun

They are enjoyable to fight.

I just read through most of this thread, it's just the Dutchies and Donark saying how all of them should be ET's complimenting each other. (And Polcher "voting" for himself).

I don't know if this thread is still on topic, but if it is I would think Tsu is the best choice. Too bad he's inactive now

FAQs give information to players. ETs host events, which realy you don't need to understand too much to participate. Why you're Temp-PA and not ET though is beyond me. You've been "Temp-PA" for quite a long time. Pretty sure their rights are barely different.

I can't speak for the events team, but I know that the FAQ team is always open to hiring those who speak languages besides English. We want to hire those who don't speak English.

For reasons of simplicity I used the example of Dutch, but other groups can do the same thing. I know at times Zone had a large number of French speaking players.

The Dutch players don't have the best understanding of English, but they are able to help other Dutch players. The FAQs that don't speak English as a first language now have tags ex: Jasper - Dutch - (FAQ)

The events team can hire non English speaking ETs as well. All that is required is someone able to translate a bunch of messages. For example if we translate a message, we can prepared the message for player who speaks Dutch (Ex: <account> won the event!), they are able to insert the account name in those messages written before the event.

I admit there are some instances those messages won't work, but those messages can deal with a large part of not speaking English. Even though Dutch players don't speak English as a native language, with hard work the Dutch players can overcome those difficulties. Another advantage of hiring staff members able to speak different languages is in some instances the Dutch players are able to cover time zones that English speaking players are not able to cover.

@SN: Yes you have advantages but you also have disadvantages and Zone doesn't have players who are timid. If they can't understand what a staff member is saying they will mouth off at the person or complain really heavily. This tends to lead to staff complaining to higher staff to have a person locked or even lock the person themself. It would be good to have staff who can speak english (as well as their language) and yes other languages but the primary language spoken on graal is english. If you want to have different divisions thats nice but be ready for the backlash that will follow.

@Revo: I wasn't pwned. You might want to learn what that means. It wasn't an argument between me and SN it was merely me speaking my mind and him replying.

Although it could be 'human knowledge' it shouldn't be counted as a vote because you'd have a bias opinion towards friends.

The threads been around for about a month, it's possible he could of forgot.. I guess.

And back to the subject...

I would still like to see Jasper get ET, he's been temp-pa for quite a bit now. I think around 5-4 months. He's improved on hosting a LOT and deserves a chance in my opinion.
