Also, as a solution for limiting trolls, it's a dumb one. Banning the almighty AOL IP would probably deal with a lot of problems too, but it doesn't mean it's a smart solution.
Don't forget, everyone here have paid for their account at a time, so it's not like these accounts are expendable like other forum accounts. Trolls should be dealt with by moderators, sure, it sucks, but it's the job. There is honestly not that much else to the job. For every troll you probably limit with this new change, you're probably losing 5 good members. Quite worth it?

Why do you people cannot realize that internet services are not free in general?

You are here on a forum for a p2p game. The forum and all other services are part of the game so it's self-evident you have to be a member to use it.
Maybe the bread thing is not the best, but look around and you find a lot other things, like a golf court.
To use it you have to be member or you must pay as guest.
It costs money to run services and that's fact.

I see you guys showing the community your cool cars, your iPods, iPhones, cell phones, you tell us about your drinks and your parties and your holidays and last not least your hypersuperdooper computers. Now tell me you get all this stuff for free.

Upgrade just to browse the forums? I can't think of any other forums that make you pay to use. If Graal is this desperate for money, maybe they should think of alternatives. I always pictured the forums as more of a refuge for those who upgraded, even if they didn't play anymore. Why would I pay for a gold subscription, when I don't want to play, just browse the forums? Any payment is too much for a forum, the fact that you had to have a classic subscription is odd compared to other games. But it never bothered me because it did stop people from creating expendable accounts. Classic accounts, however, are not quite expendable.
Everyone who gets tired of playing Graal and decide to troll, can do the same exact thing with a gold account.

EDIT: No one is saying that maintaining a website/forums is free. But EVERY OTHER PLACE MANAGES IT. There are so many alternatives, donations, ads, hell, maybe even try to find a sponsor. Graal is the only place I have ever been to that required subscriptions to use the forums.
And really, unless you make the whole forums private, it's not going to cut the bandwidth as long as people can still browse.

I've yet to see any major deadly trolling on these forums. Sure, Classic accounts may post here, but I don't see them killing anyone.

Should I? Because you're not understanding SOME PEOPLE ENJOY THE FORUMS MORE THAN THE GAME.
We enjoy helping others with their problems in Graal, I enjoy making graphics for others to use. Some people like helping others with their scripting problems. It doesn't mean we want to play the damn game. The only way to get what we actually enjoy, the forums, we have to pay for a game that we don't want to really play.
Just because we don't play the game doesn't mean we're not helping Graal.

However, my last act will be to finish up the website and leave it as a valuable resource for budding developers. I know it sucked for me to learn so hopefully it will help others.
