Very good question:

1. It's based off of A Link to the Past
2. Sparring, PKing, etc.
3. Most interesting playerbases (You guys would have regretted missing out on Valikorlia especially!)
4. Servers, although not high quality, were solid enough to stay on.
5. There are a lot of little factors and variables that kept Graal going.
6. drama, Drama, DRAMA

I've had a good time playing Graal and I don't think I'll have the same experience again. Recently I tried out the World of Warcraft trial for the first time and I just wasn't interested at all.

Edit: Woops, I interpreted the title wrong. I found out Graal from a site linked from Newgrounds which had the really old Graal Java site which itself linked itself to the official Graal page.
