I think the play/play2 commands can crash sometimes when playing bad urls. Do not play playlists directly with play/play2, load the url (requesturl) and extract the right address from that like shown in the v4 announcements.

You would need the 32bit compatibility libraries, although I don't know if those exist for Ubuntu64. It is possible however to install a complete 32bit ubuntu next to it and run programs with chroot then, although I have not tested that myself (only used chroot for security things).

I wish I could download the Graal client in a more convenient way, I don't want to dirty up my system with autopackage when I'm using Debian. A simple .tar.gz would better for me.

Maybe both could be provided or something like that.

Don't autopackages just do terminal commands for the installation? High chance that I'm wrong here.

autopackage does maintain it's own database of software installed using autopackage, but I don't see how it's poisoning your debian apt system. It'll be totally seperate.
