Of course, you could both have found the same bugs, or these "bugs" may not be true bugs but merely scripting errors, which is what the GST is for.

Yes, but they seem to be under the illusion that this is a more efficient way to find bugs than the standard methods. It appears that at least 8/10 people will disagree with them however. My only problem with it is the name mainly. I don't think they will be productive, but they should not have global in their team name. Also, if the job is to find bugs, then why is it called "Global BETA Testers"? The name of the team does not fit the job (especially since the only things that appear to actually officially be a beta are 3.x and playerworld hosting).
