Would someone be willing and able to redo the scripting at least? I would play if the server was given another chance with updated scripts, even if the old tileset and graphics are used.

While I was working on BI under Lance, we were in the process of switching out sections of the OW with the revisions that were done under Koni. Unfortunately, Lance disappeared and nobody else has the rights to keep plugging away on the server.

birdbird used a craaaap load of light effects and soo many bleh tiles lol.

The only way 2k1 would get finished is if Konidias actually came back. Koni had a great vision but it was so much work! That is why it was not able to be complete. When he was working on 2k1 there were two other staff members...Eye of the Beholder and myself. I never knew to be offended as you all know my LAT abilities--but even he wouldn't let me touch the overworld until I literally changed my whole style into his.

I think it would be a slap in the face to Koni's legacy and the graal community to twist his vision. You need someone that can keep the high level of detail that he had. His graphics pallet and unique graphics also can't be tampered with. Each of his sprites consisted of something like 20+ Layers...It drove eye of the beholder insane but he was the only one willing to keep the high level of intensity.

EVERYTHING was remade...He didn't recycle ANY old graphics...2k1 was revolutionary...So his vision when he was making it was to make it Revolutionary again.

Unless you can uphold the same standards as Konidias why bother...

Eh probably true...I just don't get how when Eye of the Beholder and I were Koni's ONLY staff the server didnt go to one of us...actual DEVELOPERS

I remember Babylon was being run down until Eye was made manager. A lot of neat features were implemented that were mind-blowing at the time (DAT LASER TAG w/ JETPACKS OMG) and still hold up.
