Did someone add the "Disable startup message" to V5 when trying to send a mass message? It is totally in the way of my writings ;[ (I know this has nothing to do with V6, but I couldn't find anywhere else to post it!)

This is a GK bug, not a v6 or v5 bug.

Also reported by another member on the forums.
For some reason, when starting up graal, it will randomly forget the nickname, account and password, which is quite annoying for people who haven't memorized their password.

Solution: memorize your password.

A noble solution, but it's still somewhat of a bug. However, such information is saved to the Windows Registry. Are you sure it's related directly to Graal itself and not a third-party software preventing certain programs from writing to the registry, or possibly doing a regular registry search and delete cleanup process (EG: An Antivirus/Firewall/etc scanner doing a regular "clean up")? This isn't a typical issue to come across, so I would probably assume it to be a problem locally rather than with the client itself (or we'd all be having this problem).

This only happens to me if I have disabled my firewall, to prioritise programs like Hamachi or Tunngle to play games online that usually don't find servers through the normal network.

I've disabled mine after what you just said. It hasn't happened to me at all since then, and it normally has a 7/10 chance of doing it when I restart graal. Thank you <3

Having your firewall disabled is not very smart! ;P

If you run an older version of Graal(like say, Graal 1.4) it uses a different encryption for passwords in the registry, but still stores it in the same registry value as the new versions. So it pretty much overwrites the registry for your saved password with a version that the current Graal doesn't decrypt, thus you lose your password.

Graal has forgot passwords from time to time (on both Graal and RC) for as long as I can remember. Never had it forget my account or nick, though.

The word "Admins" on the playerlist should really be changed to "Staff".

I agree with this, but I'd love to see it go even further. Perhaps at the bottom of the list, out of the way, (or even within the "Staff" list itself, although that may put RC's higher on the list than they need to be), all RC's should be grouped as "Non-Client Staff" or something to that effect.

It's no secret people are getting more ignorant to the point that what wasn't an issue 5 years ago is an issue today whereby you seemingly have to be on tag for people to realise you're staff, completely ignoring the fact that your RC is active. We need it to be easier for players to differentiate playerlist population that can help them from those that are just other players.

I'd love if RCs were only listed in the playerlist if they are on tag. Otherwise, not at all. That'd be great.

I disagree. I've been staff on plenty of servers, and players have never had trouble finding me when I was on RC. It helps on Era that RCs are given a special head that can't be used by players.

Graal needs a better support infrastructure, though. A lot of the problems with staff communication arise because players are using PMs instead of something like a support center. Era's is an example of a very effective one which helps a lot of players with complicated issues. I would like to see one on all servers, though.

Try renaming your Graal6.exe to something else. Do you experience any other issues with your computer outside of Graal?

The issues in my post here are still present in the current client:

Is the above fixed in your latest version?

Not sure if someone else has posted this yet or not, but I can't seem to draw fonts larger than size ~48. According to cbk1994, this is only a bug on Windows.

For example:
PHP Code:
new GuiTextCtrl("test_text") {

profile GuiBlueTextProfile;

useownprofile true;

profile.fontSize 72;

text "Hello";

screenwidth 2;

screenheight 2;

will draw the exact same size as:

PHP Code:
new GuiTextCtrl("test_text") {

profile GuiBlueTextProfile;

useownprofile true;

profile.fontSize 48;

text "Hello";

screenwidth 2;

screenheight 2;

In the playerlist, the player's current level doesn't update - it just stays constant at wherever they logged into.

The size of bitmap fonts is limited to 48 pixels (was 30 before), and polygon fonts are disabled in the Windows version right now, but can check sometime to enable it again.

How come when you look at a player on another server you can't see their community name, just there account, unlike if you were to look at the same player on the same server?

On a somewhat related note, I'd like to see the account name removed from profiles entirely, and have the profile window title just show the community name.

A little curious to ask as to why you suggest this. I've found the use of this quite useful in the past.

The same reason your forum user id isn't displayed on your forum member page. It's for internal purposes only and doesn't need to be public knowledge.

The community name inconsistencies on the server-side still need to be fixed though. Particularly when player.communityname is false/null.

I understand the reasoning now, but still is it not possible to merely make that sort of information visible to only the people that necessarily need it?

That's the main reason I still identify players by their account and not their community when scripting something because guest accounts don't have community names. But I agree it doesn't need to be made public.

Has anyone else experienced their tab key invoking their S/sword key?
Seems to happen after I've minimised/maximised the screen, then lasts until the next time I press S.

Seems to happen after I've minimised/maximised the screen, then lasts until the next time I press S.
Nope.

I do have this sometimes, but it's not linked directly to the TAB key itself. It's something to do with the S key (or any other key) not register the lifted key. All Tab is doing when pressed is repeating any "held" key.

I noticed that Graal v6 still has problems with (paused) sometimes showing up after peoples' names even if disablepause() is active. Seems to happen when people log on. This has become a bit of an issue on Graal Kingdoms because sometimes these players also aren't added to the clientside players array.

I thought that was a V5 bug too. But yeah it's slightly annoying.

When using the new TGUIAnimation effects in order to make a GUI hide/destroy, sometimes the GUI will destroy at the end of the animation, but then not be able to be recreated afterwards.
When this happens, it also breaks other animated GUIs, it could cause them to not appear, or it could cause them to appear but then be unresponsive (such as a button).

It's not destroying, only hiding controls.
