A thought before you get too deep into it:
make sure any Quest Drops are handled in a sane manner, please? "Bring five T-Rex heads" can't possibly require killing 500 T-Rexes hoping one will randomly drop the item "T-Rex Head". Have the quest-giver insist on Perfectly Intact heads, have taxidermy be an important skill, and for the love of pete let the player drag the entire corpse of the T-Rex in if they want to (and have the requisite strength)...this "field dressing or leave the whole thing" is a bit silly, there ought to be other options.

We thought about classes that you can choose once (if you wanna choose another one you must pay like 100$, again ? It will be 200$ etc...)

Idea of classes:

Medic: They got an High speed, can carry more medkits than other people and have speed increased (so they can run fast to dead players then to revive em (But it will take a short time while the medic won't be able to move)
And they mostly use pistols and melee.

Hunter: The basic class with normal speed, they can drag medium-sized dinos and they use Rifles / Pistols / Melee.

Haevy Soldier: They have less speed than hunter and they can use rifle, melee and heavy guns, like chaingun. They can Carry all size of dinos.

An idea I had for Kingdoms (no idea why it got shot down)-
Couriers
A mostly Newbie class; when an experienced dino hunter has too full of an inventory, he can load up his pack, put a padlock on it, and hand it to a newbie to deliver for him. When the newbie delivers the pack to the hunter's house, a little drawer opens and pays the newbie the agreed-on price. If the newbie doesn't deliver it, the hunter can cancel the contract and the pack drops wherever it is for someone Else to deliver it (or drop for the hunter to pick up, or snap back to where the contract was made); if the newbie logs off, the pack reappears where the newbie logged off.
Give newbies (who generally have a lot of inventory space but not a lot of strength or skill) a chance to see the server and make some money without the high-end weapons.

Thats actually pretty cool. Adds some interactivity to the whole thing too.

I thought you had Angel and Codein?

When I'm done with my offline project, I'll help out in exchange for a side project area. That way I can make AND share scripts. Bwaha. ;-D

Noticed that.
Well, if you're up to scalping I'll send you the link to the backup of my Offliney progress and you can reap whatever you like from that system, or you can sit tight and I'll make the Onliney version later on, whatever blows your hair back.
I wonder, what are the different job classes going to let you keep once you've changed jobs? Will ex-medics still get a boost on Healing Kits? Will Hunters still get average stats? Will Heavies keep (some of) their strength boost? Will Couriers keep (some of) their speed boost? Are you planning on having an XP system? Is there going to be an overarching story to this? Will it break the mold of Perpetual Static?

Another class idea - Caveman/Savage/Cavewoman/Primitive. Fastest fighting class (as fast as a courier), fights in melee - often climbing ONTO their prey (attachobject, like riding a hostile) to slice it to ribbons. Uses Field Dressing to cut a dinosaur down to lightweight parts. If Reptilia winds up using a FF5-style Jobs system, the Keepable traits would be melee, speed, field-dressing and grapple. Possible top-level ability has them take limited Rider control over their prey - the controls are similar to many servers' Drunk effect and the dino charges at max speed, but you can smash it into walls or off cliffs (if you don't jump at the last second, you take damage and fall off when the dino impacts)

Don't sweat that you don't have anything to show for it yet, and trust me, you won't for a while. Pretty much the ONLY thing I learned in university was that any software product can benefit from A LOT of planning before the first header is called. If you have a major reference document with everything from "The king of the rival kingdom's first wife name was Loretta, is seen in one flashback, has red hair, [picture]; even if the rival king gets deposed, she still started the Courier's Guild in her days as a street urchin, causing the so-called Noble classes to look down on it" to "System handles: movement (clientside with verification and reporting serverside), combat (ditto), GUI (clientside only). Calls: Dungeon stocker (level NPC) via with(NPC)..."

You know as well as the rest of us that Graal2001 in general has done more to counter this effect than any other MMO-style game I've ever encountered.

To some extent, even the classic server in its day.

Graal is amazing when you think about it that way.

It's easy, but it lacks substance in content after a while and the dynamics prove to be repetitive without a community.

Bomy Moon still exists? :-P
Last time I went there we were all Generic Adventurer-Heroes Namelessly Saving the World which somehow nonetheless managed to imperil itself by the time the next Generic Adventurer-Hero started the quest to slay the Constantly Reanimating Dragon...

The running gag is you can either make a game where there's a plot, and everyone has to play though either the plot or a variation on the plot; or you can make a game where there's a bunch of quest-pieces, and you play through plotless variations on the quest-pieces until you're tired of Collecting the Randomly-Generated MacGuffins. There isn't a whole lot of Third Option. (The good and bad of Classic was it had some mix-and-match, with everyone playing through the plot first before entering the sandbox to do whatever. Not everyone agreed with me about that...and even then it defied suspension of disbelief that EVERYONE has to stop an earthquake in Avalon at least once...)

Ooh, Reptilia ("but Dinosaurs aren't reptiles..." "well, these ones are, shh")'s already anachronistic - you should have a Time Travel Plot. No, seriously - have a quest-thread where the hero jumps into a locked-control time tunnel, goes back to The Day of Reckoning and fights alongside a bunch of shadowy, blurry fellow time-travellers (some of which are players, some of which are NPC/GaniMovies, some of THOSE are mirroring the actions of the last group - make it impossible to tell), and the hero was one of the chosen warriors of time who slayed the great evil, etcetera at the birth of the world. Then it's not inconceivable that EVERYONE was on that team - those shadows were always winking in and out, "I was the shadow that kept trying to circle strafe" "Oh that was you?!"
Then you just need some Applied Phlebotinum in the form of the Risk of a Paradox to keep new players needing to hop into the time machine - "If you were one of the heroes who DID save this world, and you DON'T go back, the other heroes might have failed in their quest and it will unmake all of time!"
I know City of Heroes already uses this schtick, but it's a good one, and they don't do it Exactly. They don't have a monopoly on time travel!

Kay, about classes theres an example:
If medic and couriers have 1.5 speed / Hunter has 1 / Heavy has 0.5
If you are medic, if you pick up Heavy you will have only 0.5, and no there won't b any exp system !

And yes i want you offline work So codein will pick wht we need
And if you want to try things online, you'r welcome Thym
