Well each piece has it's own style that was created intentionally, but you're right, the first one is the most aesthetically pleasing. As I continue to work on my different approaches to design, I'm sure the others will become more pleasing as well.

I'm gonna work on another design now.. so check back in a bit

I'm also taking art history actually. We're studying the Wiemar period, which occurred post world war 1 / pre world war 2. Expressionism, New Objectivity, Modernism, cetera. I'm actually kind of hating the course, I find I prefer post-modernism a lot more.

I love my art history course, although it may only be because I have a strong knowledge of art histoy beginning in 1500's.

Hmm yah, I have a vague knowledge of that period, I remember something or other about the renaissance. I've never been big fan of art movements, I prefer learning about the thinkers, philosophy, and politics. Thomas Hobbes! John Locke! Decartes! Although, it is all kind of intertwined..

Looks nice, there's potential for a element which demands attention - as it stand your "blue sight" seems to grab the most attention.

Yah you're right, there's no hierarchy or sense of direction. I might add some more stuff later, but I kind of like for that reason. It's really undemanding on the senses. Placid like.

Everything you see here has been created with my WACOM (tablet) using Photoshop CS2 at 1500x1500 px

I work using the brush tool with pressure sensitivity assigned to opacity, which means that the harder I press the darker color.

What do you mean ?

Actually on second thought, what i've said isn't one hundred percent true. Now that I think about it, I actually used the pen tool as well. It's very affective using nothing more than a mouse, and creates beautiful lines. The flower outlines were drawn 100% with the pen tool, because it offers stronger and more mathematically precise lines. However the shading is all done with my WACOM, although it would be possible to do it with a mouse.

I drew this 100% with mouse :
