An important thing to remember, when posting your work (speaking in general here) in the Development forums, is that we are not perfect, our work is not perfect, and everyone has different tastes, and sees things differently.
Some people will love your work, others will not. These people who do not like your work may offer ways they think you can improve on your work. Isn't that the point of posting your work?

My advice is: If you cannot handle some people not liking your work, or a piece of your work, and you cannot handle people giving you advice to make something look better, then do not post your work.

We do not allow outright bashing of someones work here, but constructive critisism is allowed, and should be/is appreciated for the most part, so if you can't handle it, it would be better not to post your work.

@Elk, your work is really good. So some people don't like this particular piece of work, so what. Just because one piece of work is not liked, doesn't mean you aren't good.
I hate most famous paintings that go for thousands, if not millions of dollars too, does that mean they aren't good because I don't like them? No, it just means they simply are not my taste. Someone must like them, since these famous artists are...well...famous.

people told me what they thought of my levels when i first started these forums, most didnt like it and some told me to give up but i kept going anyway to get better and slowly more and more people liked them.

i do better when im told i do better, dunno why. when someone tells me i do bad, it makes me not want to waste time doing it, so i just ignore all those posts.

and whats with everyone *****in at elk? hes one of the best gfx'rs here, and i dont remember seeing him say "im the gfx god" i think you guys just said that, because you know hes pretty damn good at it...

get over it, if you like his work tell him, if you dont tell him. im tired of reading 7 pages of *****in at one guy because someone said something negitive to him, so he said somethin back, its a waste of time.

ya'll need to get the **** off the comp, and go find something to do outside, instead of wasting all your time *****in over some stupid ****...

Dont get me wrong, I like Elk. But he HAS said that he is a gfxing god multiple times, and I even think he used those exact words.

You guys always say you are here because of the leet community.
You know him, accept him as he is. We all have strengths and weaknesses.
And Elk, dont take things personal, you need to learn to take criticism.

No, because I don't agree with you. I am not a graphic designer, I am not able to judge his work in professional way. For me his arts are looking cool, I wish I've had the same talent when I was 15 years old.

It's stupid not to point out weaknesses, because they'll be ignored by the artist, and they don't get better on their own. They consistently happen.

elk, you do do really good pixel art most of the time..
but when someone says they dont like yourstuff dont take it so hard.. take what they say... restart and own them in the face with it..
