I would not call his actions such a 'hacking action'; hackers do more than just steal a few accounts in a game just to please their egos. He is a lammer.
What I have tried to say is that they should really punish actions like this, instead of simple apply a global ban or so, but then; I am not sure if just a simple ban happened. If they are doing more than that, good ! I doubt any idiot will try to do the same next time.

oh well time for him to realize he commited a felony and is probably going to go to jail, because in cases like this the internet is some serious business!
I doubt he would go to jail. Not in the US as a first time offender. Realistically he would get 6mo - 1yr probation with community service, fines and court costs. Plus I think Velox/Rance Vicious or whatever name he uses is Canadian so the laws will vary.

What I don't understand about that list Googi posted is that he takes credit for some accounts that belong to him like Rance_P2P and Termina_Owner. Is he trying to make himself look cool by upping the count of compromised accounts by adding some of his own?

If my account and stuff was compromized I would have smacked myself.

I think it would be prudent to add a security check at log in, that ran on the server. Basically, if one IP and/or client app ID logs in to 3 or more accounts within a short interval, the server would scan the three accessed accounts for that IP in their log histories. If the IP is new, then it should email staff of a possible abuse. It wouldn't have taken staff very long to realize the activity (going from many to no items in short time of play) was more than a little suspicious.

Also, it should be very easy for the server to recognize when one IP address is attempting and failing to log into multiple different accounts. That should be an easy red flag to raise.

It is not really graal's responsibility - graal security verified the correct account/passwords afterall, and safeguarding the password is the user's responsibility - but it would be a nice added level of security, and discourage people from attempting phishing in the future.

The problem here wasn't that the staff didn't find out about it. The problem was realized pretty quickly.

Moderation wasn't bezerk (YOU COULD SAY BAD WORDS!)

All around fun, and no the graal online website doesn't have the features that graalians.com had.

What Velox did was horrible yes, but let's realize that people signed up for a website with the SAME password that their e-mail had, NEVER EVER DO THAT.

aye finally got unbanned last night. I got my money back today also!

I signed up as it seemed like a neat site and as always just looking for a nice graalian community. It also presented things this site does not and was controlled by a player and in some ways the people that signed up there. The links to PW sites and screenshots reviews were all a neat touch.

Fry, eplaining phishing to people that are already freaked by their items going missing is just too much of a pain. I'd rather say "hacked" because that's the common vocabulary.

You didnt state your problem exactly, but if you account password was changed without your knowledge and you have never been to www.graalians.com this thread doesn't relate to you, and you should submit a ticket to the Support Center and it will be taken care of.

Eh...People should know by now that there is no such thing as selflessness anymore. That should be part of the "common sense factor" when deciding whether or not to sign up for a site like this. Everything has a catch, this website had a more disguised one.

Edit: Not to say that it wasn't wrong, stupid, foolish, selfish, and all that jazz, I just think you're giving him more credit than he's worth on the "hacking" thing.

Even thought what he did was obviously wrong, I have to give him props for a great social engineering scam. It demonstrates how easily one can be taking for as a fool on the net. When I first heard about it I coulnd't help but laugh, and hope I was smart enough to use a different password. Even I said, "Oh <censored>", and scrambled around checking my accounts. Luckly I do recall using a unique pass on his site. This sort of thing happens to the best of us. Hope everyone learned from the experience.

everythings over, you all fell for velox's scam and join these retarded graal communities, if i want to talk about graal, id do it at the forums, same people. Just stop joining these dumb un-official graal sites, i only thought graalpeople was good. Most retarded thing you people could do, go to a unoffical graal site to talk about graal when it can be talked about here. This reminds me of a time me and my brother did a criminal offence because i had acess to this guys cpanel because i worked on his forum, then my brother wiped his whole host lol because the guy was a *******.

Jesus you're right, there could never be anything worse than signing up for a site using the same password as your e-mail and conversing about an online game known as graal. Screw war when you have this!

I think you're a little hyped up, cool down fella.

Except it's actually pretty safe to use other sites as long as you don't use duplicate passwords.
