Sorry for the lack of updates.
Currently I am working on
- a map which displays the locations with names
- replace the doors with the old smaller ones
- fixing the gui
- fixing the ladders
- testing the sewers
- checking what can be done about businesses, gangs and events

No, he isn't..

Rick is still in charge I believe.. He is just real busy with personal issues currently, but he told me it has been getting better...
Yes, the wait has been LONG. We know it.
I also haven't been very active on RC with school starting last Tuesday and me being gone for the whole month on vacation..
So since I'm kinda back.. I'll try to help Stefan out on things he wouldn't know about era... (No offense to Stefan)

Well, I am. Rick has good plans but he has not the time right now to finish those things soon. It's more a long-time project which follows more the original Era story.
But in my opinion Era should open soon, more based on the original content, with improvements for the gangs.

Ah I have checked, will probably keep the new doors because it would be too much work (scripts, tiling) to replace them again, and besides being a little bit big they look actually quite nice. (i mean the doors are not so important for the opening, can still be improved later)
But I remember that some of the old doors were animated when opening them, can add that may be?

Also IMO Era = worse every reset so.. you better have some good new improvements other than sidewalks/gym/unpkableness of Jenn's Era that I didn't play too much of, and that one BS scene where everyone had everything for like 3 or 4 months. Era I came too (With the basket and old inventory/movement) > Chris' reset (Guns had no vareity because there was, AK,FAMAS, and M4 that's basically all you were limited too, and then they ended up giving stuff away for free in the end) > Jenn's NEW ERA that took so long sucked even more than before > This Era??

I have heard from an outside source that Tony Rivers has been dropping terrible ideas and so I hope this is not true.

Also I've heard about this "original Era" theme nonsense, and I am thinking that it is a really silly idea to have 3 servers built into one, unless by "original Era" theme you don't mean an Era with Eras?

It's really hard to have hope for Era, when pretty much every manager it's ever had has always been busy with school and stuff. I mean maybe it needs a manager who can put time into it? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with having a life, but I'm saying maybe if you lead a full active life, running a server isn't the thing for you? Era is getting developed at an exponentially slower rate than every other server, because for the most part it was inhabited by people with intellectual people with lives, so when it comes to picking a manager, it turns out to be a bit of a problem.

Right now Era has:
Smart people with little or no dev skills who have the ability to run a server

Idiots who have good dev skills and cannot run a server.

You people need to choose whether you want Era to be a MENSA friendly establishment, or a server that can be properly Dev'd in a reasonable amount of time.

Not 3 servers or whatever. I don't want to give away what Rick has planned, which is totally different and awesome, but it's not really anything like the Era we all know.

And about Tony? Not sure what you heard. I barely see the guy online.

I did orginally make a demo for era and I also made the PK arena that was used on Era before it went down..
I asked Rick if I would be able to use these things for the players while they make their new era, Rick declined.. Dunno why though..

Yes I of course know of the "warp" class, it's just warping though and not opening the door or doing some animation.

Personally, I liked the old doors with the door class and links versus the warping class. It gave a more realistic feel of what a door is and it the smaller doors just look nicer, I think.

Jenn did the warp class for the reason that people were always lagging and modum tapping through doors...
With the warp class you can't do that and you had to just grab it and stuff.

(That is what I heard atleast)
Maybe there is a way around that now though lol

Yes, that was her reason for doing it. Her system is more secure but even after that was implemented there were problems with modem tappers. The only thing her system prevented was people from lagging through outside HP Doors that took you inside. I can only recall a few of them. (LC, BH, BB and Street Gang Doors)
