It's not so much a spell, more like a magic act which is very simple, i don't know how to explain it.

Magic should be special, and at least require a wand, in my opinion. You use it as a tool rather than an ally, And it makes your character appear to be almighty - I mean, someone who has a spell for untieing hair, cutting it off and growing it again sure had a doomsday-spell, right?

Those stories doesn't make very much sense, but i guess it's because it's chapters taken out of content

Little kids breathe, but they don't know how they do it.

ps: The answer is: you can.

Thye can ask their dads though, and -they- know. Who's she going to ask?
Also, its kind of a bad analogy...breathing's an involuntary thingy, using some crazy spell to accidentally cut your hair off isnt, i'd hope

Do you know how to walk? Sure, put one foot in front of the other. How do you move them? By using muascles, Which ones? Well, the right ones. How do you know you're not falling over? Keep your balance. How? By moving the right way... In effect, most things we do go straight from idea to action, you don't have to tell evers single muscle to move when typing a single letter - that would take ages, also, you don't even know which ones to contract would they not do it by themselves.

Still, my tool-point remains

Yes, but you don't have to to perform whatever it is we're currently referring to. And you don't call upon every single muscle to do something, you just tell your brain "go ahead, do this and that".

No, your brain tells it to the muscles.

*rides off the topic*
Once Zormite gets that new ministry I'm waiting for, you'll be seeing some of my own RP stories. And they'll probably be less disturbing than Myukoi's. Not that his stories are really disturbing, barely, really.

But, on topic, yeah, I agree with the people that said you should really put all the chapters in order.

But, Satrek, magic is magic, only GK and MMORPGs make it seem like something special. A truly powerful mage would not require a staff of any kind, and he wouldn't be limited to a list of spells. I like Steven Brust's idea of magic. You link to the Imperial Orb, you draw upon the energy, shape it, and hurl it. And his idea of witchcraft is perfect, too. A long, emotional, focused ritual involving runes, herbs, minerals, and all that sort to one main goal. In general, a good mage can do whatever he wishes with magic, from raising a mountain to fixing his hair.

Magic in my opinion, is regarded as a force, or source of energy. Like you said, once the Mage has the energy, it's up to them what to shape it into. Some mages are known to draw from nature, others from their own bodies, elsewhere, I've seen mages that draw power from invisible threads of magic in the air. They concentrate them together and shape them into the desired effect. Wands are merely a concentration point for the magic. ^.~ Skilled mages wouldn't need them.
