I have a distaste for staff who, instead of working (Or even doing nothing!) let on they can be Manager but do not even work much as a developer! Also (not to bash, but it needs to be said) Tseng was *****ing about how I wouldn't give him back all the rights (i.e. ban) he lost when he resigned as comanager.

Admittedly newmain isn't much better off than it was around the end of Kamuii's managership, but sometimes we manage to have 20 or so people on.

Also I want you all to know that I am doing the best I can do, but I am rather busy right now getting ready to graduate from high school.

As for the people who think I should hire more staff, I have open hiring and I get applications all the time. Just recently I've hired Spanky as a new Head Level Maker and Gryffon as a second Kingdoms Admin (though Gryffon was really hired by Wryoko, heh).

Madmartigan, correct me if I'm wrong, but GBM had 40-70 players on it after it was reset for about 1 1/2 weeks. And now it has dropped back to the dismal 0-10 range. To me, that's killing it.

No you actually have to do something to kill it. Such as release a major update that every one hated. After a reset for less than 2 weeks isnt a valid point. Why? Because it was just a bunch of people playing newbie again once they got back what they had they left again. You're logic is flawed Jeff got it Reset and brought the player count up to 40-70. So how is that killing it when he got the playercount up even temporarily? Think people..

and funnylink I'm still looking for that reference to respect.

It's killing it because it's back down to 0-15. He had the opportunity to add new things to keep the players there, but he didn't. Instead he fired Tseng (or Tseng left because of him), got scared of Birdbird's 2k1 and reset it. Then did nothing of the sort to update it besides auctioning bomys when all along Tseng had a great plan to atleast attempt to keep the playercount after it was reset.

It's not all lost. You just need a HUGE update to get the players back in. Once the players are back in, you need to update it more.

Or just overhaul the server, and keep the updates constant.

Constant updates = Constant players.

So Tseng was going to do all this stuff but yet he did... nothing! You can place blame all you want on how its Jeff's fault and that Tseng would have if he wasnt fired the second time around. But it was infact his own fault. Jeff hasnt killed anything it was already dead he temporarily revived it but it was dead long before he got it. Wether or not he's the problem on it not going back up and staying up is a seperate issue.

My final thoughts on the matter of Tseng. Plans are like gas... it's nothing but a bunch of hot air and most times all that comes from them is a bunch of stink and nothing more.

Yes I had plans to join the army at one time but I didnt and its all Jeff's fault!

Yes but its hard to get decent staff to put in much effort on something that seems like a lost cause. They feel like they're working for nothing more than a hope that people might come back. One thing GBM needs is motivation which falls under Jeffs jurisdiction. He needs to start taking an active role in assigning projects to the admins then having the Admins asign those to the staff under them and then get project updates on how they're doing. Fire any one who isnt pulling there own wait. Give a weekly/biweekly update on the forums to let us know how things are going. This is at least one possible way to accomplish it along the lines of what you said but it will take alot of determination and devotion to GBM to get it done. The key to it all is Motivation and not letting the stack slack off.

Please don't talk when you have no clue what happend. It was the first time when Jeff and Tseng were supposed to be equals and do everything together that they had it all planned out. Yet the majority of it was planned out by Tseng. Then Jeff reset the server and did a bunch of other little things without consulting Tseng which obviously prompted Tseng's departure. The staff was actually into Tseng's idea too, and then everything went downhill after it was reset.

Also, what you say of in your second post describes how Kamuii was as a Manager. So that might not be the best answer, and honestly I don't think anyone knows what it would be. The big thing is to atleast try something and not let it just go and wither away.

It was the first time when Jeff and Tseng were supposed to be equals and do everything together that they had it all planned out.

I never really agreed to this equality. Stefan placed me in charge, and I made Tseng comanager because he was the best candidate. Almost equal, but not quite.

Yet the majority of it was planned out by Tseng.

He is a very good planner. And, admittedly, I am often at a loss for ideas.

Then Jeff reset the server and did a bunch of other little things without consulting Tseng which obviously prompted Tseng's departure.

Tseng and myself had agreed, as I recall, on the reset.

What prompted him to resign was...*drum roll*...the return of kingdoms, or more specifically that it was Scarlett and Wryoko who finally convinced me to bring them back, and not Tseng. He didn't have his hand up my shirt, I was listening to others for advice, and he didn't like that.

The staff was actually into Tseng's idea too, and then everything went downhill after it was reset.

Blame Tseng for resigning.

I honestly can't be mad at Jeff. It's not his fault at all, or so I think. First off, 2k1 can't compare to 2k2, because so many people are already addicted. Theres not really much he can do to fix it. For like a week it was back, then it just ended up dying again, and I dont know if new ideas are really gonna help.
