if you're good at what you do, you can get away with just about anything (referring to developers)

You guys really need to take your complaints to server managers.

or, you know, have a rule that makes sense implemented globally. Always a possibility.

It doesn't make sense 'implemented globally', because not all servers share the same culture.

I wish I had the faintest idea what you are talking about.

Regardless of the server's culture, a NEW player will see a player listed as staff and contact them for assistance first.

Why should a recently disciplined (especially for things like harassment/racism) player appear under that heading?

Harsher punishments (global bans) for racist/harassing staff that are supposed to represent the game IMO.

Valikorlia doesn't use staff tags. Nothing distinguishes a staff member from a regular player, in terms of how they interact with each other. The only thing expected of staff is that they not be fracking idiots. It's difficult to describe to you the culture of Valikorlia; we're far more close-knit and far less sensitive than your average server. A blanket rule for staff misconduct would never fit.

If you have a problem with a staff member, contact the manager. If you don't think the manager is doing anything, contact the Playerworld Administration. It's that simple.

If Valikorlia doesn't use staff tags, they wouldn't be affected by such a rule change.

so again, I'm not sure what your point is.

It sounds like what he's saying is that your plan is stupid and staff members shouldn't be screwing up to get in trouble anyway.

Managers can manage their server how they want. If they want people who get in trouble still representing their server, then that's their thing.

there is nothing to stop a manager from being abusive as hell on their server. if they wanna run it as an absentee-dictatorship, then go for it

if they wanna close down the server regardless of community protest, they can do it

For UC servers, at least. The PWA are supposed to keep a check on things for Classic servers. Though, it can be pretty difficult to get a manager fired; just look at Valikorlia and Clash.

Making it against the rules for players to represent their server for misbehavior is stupid?

What? Could you possibly stop trying to start an argument just for the sake of causing an argument?

I don't think this is actually the case, GraalOnline should be taking a much more active role in presenting a professional image.

A good way to strengthen your argument/suggestion is to provide recent examples that support it.

I don't know how other servers do it but I fire people who are troublemakers. If the server you login to doesn't write an email to the PWA. There's no point implementing something that a Manager/Admin should be making sure doesn't happen in the first place.

It's also important to note that due to Graal having such a small community, everyone knows everyone and doing a background/idiot check is simple as asking your fellow staff on RC.

You have this silly belief that jailings actually mean something.

If a staff member gets banned, chances are that they'll be fired anyway. If they get jailed, there's actually a high chance it was something petty. If they keep their job, then either their wrongdoing wasn't that big of a deal, or it was important to have them around. Justice on Graal is silly. People get jailed and banned all the time for little, petty things.

There's no reason some rule should be implemented that says if you get jailed for saying Brad Pitt is sexy, you lose your Level Admin job.

Look at it this way. Tig manages GK/PWA. He doesn't have the cleanest of histories on Graal. If he gets jokingly pillored for playing around while people are kart racing, he's not going to get fired. And he shouldn't. If he gets nailed for hacking and spawning items for friends, he might get fired. And he should. Not because of this rule, but because that's common sense.
