What happened to Event Island Raffle?

You simply change the event island raffle room to the way it was before and then make everything in the room movable like the furniture in the pub. It's something I cannot do myself because I don't have the right resources to do.

I'm not going to point at Sam or Bjorn... but not enough was done these past years to count as "work" on this server. A few changes here and there, but in reality, the amount of things that have been broken have canceled out any progress made.

It's not about necessity... it's about quality. The Event Island Raffle house was much preferred to host raffles in compared to the Hotaru Ballroom. But, for some bizarre reason, someone found it necessary to degrade the quality of raffles to make room for a school. The idea seems sound until you factor in the fact that Graal IS A ****ING GAME. A pointless, rarely used school could of been made somewhere else without even having to touch a perfectly good raffle room. They had the ENTIRE LANDMASS OF EVENT ISLAND to work with. This isn't some real life government trying to save money on construction by converting buildings. THIS IS GRAAL. Even if Event Island were crowded with buildings, it could just be stuck in some toilet like that huge ass labyrinth in Zol's Pub.

If you don't feel like reading all that, I'll put it in one sentence.
The quality of service that the server provided was lowered for no real reason other than selfish thoughts of optimism.

It's not about what you prefer. It's about what the players and Event Masters using the rooms prefer. If I were still an Events Master, I'd be pissed off at the general attitude shown in this thread.

I prefer an Events Island Raffle room over Hotaru Ballroom raffle for a few reasons:
-Hotaru Ballroom wasn't designed specifically to be a raffle room.
-Event Island Raffle was made for the sole purpose of raffles, and thus had adequate controls to keep the room in order for raffles.
-Bringing back Event Island Raffle would be the easiest choice to implement assuming backups were made of the previous level.
-You have this huge amount of land on Event Island to use anyway. You could just make another school that nobody uses.

Fact is that I'm still the Events Admin so it's my decision. So far I can see the posts EM's did here they agree with me.
I don't know what Hotaru Ballroom was designed for and it doesn't matters because things changes, that's life.
You are not EM anymore so you don't need to handle problems by trouble makers crowding the counter.

He knows he isn't but he just merely made a suggestion and the answer "no" was given a few times in here by you. We do however need a kick or level kick command in the hotaru raffle house.

You prefer it. No one else really seems to care. GK has changed since your day of hosting events. I can't even host during the day usually Mon-Fri because there is barely 20 ppl on by the time i get off. Times change and as Sam said. He's EM Admin..his word is law.


Now lets look at this stat wise. Hotaru ballroom is the right size for the event...granted i need a kick or level kick but ppl don't seem to mind..they walk out and they are back to wherever they were warped from and if they walk in at least they are on hotaru island and don't have to walk all the way across events island to get back to main.

Then that would make you responsible for the quality of events. If such quality is low, then you aren't doing a good job.
Fayt would use Event Island Raffle over Hotaru. I can't tell what Ravenblade's intents are though.
Some people just do things because they can. If they can't do it, then it won't happen. Hotaru raffles are an example of that. Levels of respect toward the Events Master can be a factor to that, but it's mainly because of lack of control.

Just give EMs a global "punt" command that kicks people to random locations on main.gmap. Kicking just provokes people to cause more problems 5 seconds later. The "punt" command could have a second parameter that would have the "punt" reason displayed on the screen.

Until I get a real reason and explanation as to why Events Island Raffle isn't being brought back, I'm not going to accept the "no".

That's because most of the people that would care quit the game. It's because a lot of the active players quit the game. It could very well be partially Sam's fault then since he is the EM Admin. Even if his words are law, that doesn't make them good words.

The Events Island Raffle room was designed specifically for raffles. It had a kick command. A perfect solution already existed but then it was torn down for some reason.

I am not saying I wouldn't use events island raffle house but you also can't blame Sam for stuff being the way it is. If you are on as much as I am you would see the type of people that are on. We have nothing but scammers and usders, whiners etc. Those are the people who bring down the quality. Not sam.

I have to agree with Ed.

Raven's last raffle had many problems, namely with people not listening to him saying, "Don't crowd the box." or "Below this line." I think that is reason enough to be able to use the Events Island Raffle. Most hosts have this problem and are forced to stall until they listen or have to pillor people. And what about our EM's who don't have the ability to pillor? They are not in control of their own event.

Look on the map, I believe it is marked "Raffle" yet can't serve it's function. There was no reason to tear it down. If you wanted something else, just make it on the island. It's not hard to find a spot. In short, there was no reason for this switch to be made other than laziness.
