Save the Roleplaying
|
Oi. The whole situation of Graal Kingdoms has reached absolutly abyssmal lows. In the threads about "Bel'la Olpyn", Etien openly assumed that "developing his character" in a roleplaying sense meant leveling-up! We have leaders in most of the kingdoms making terrible decisions, and those few groups that DO roleplay have no way to enforce it. Roleplaying is a delicate balance; that fact has been proven time and time again. If even one kingdom is out of balance, it ruins it for the others. While the server may be in a Roleplaying Dark Age, it's former glory COULD be brought back in some small way, one step at a time.
Step I is the simplest: Staff should select an experienced and mature Roleplaying Administrator. The job of this new Admin would, in theory, be identical to 2k1's Kingdoms Administration Team: to enforce the general rules of roleplaying as they have ALWAYS been, to approve or dismiss changes to current kingdoms, to move the storyline along by arranging events, and to ensure that there is a check on the powers of inadaquate rulers. There are dozens of well-suited candidates! Zurkiba, Lance, Shawn, Kyden, even Alan, though he'd have to step down as Governor.
Step II would entail actually fixing the current problems: bad leadership, a horrible kingdom change (honestly- how do fish/humans turn into vulgar drow at the drop of a hat?), arguments of leadership, etc. It may be too little too late, but it's not too late to at least make an attempt at doing what should have been done when the server began. |
