Well i think the towns themselves should be ok to fight in. If you don't want to fight thats what P mode is for. But fighting in the trade house makes no sense at all, because you know the only people to draw a weapon will be those that are slaughtering the weak, or murdering someone who has their back turned. Otherwise they would be in the arena like the rest of the good players.
As for the players standing outside to kill someone, you could unstick as well, which they would wait there too. Thats why i was gonna suggest a better warp system, where you could go to any town with a trade house, so people would actually use them, and everyone wouldn't be sittin in bomboria. And when you warp there, i don't think it should drop you in a single spot, there should be several places around each town where you drop, so PKers couldn't just wait there, or summon a swarm of monsters. It would make main island a lot more fun and usefull, as well as make B-Mode a little more fair.
This should not be an easy task though. I think in each town you should have to find certain items to build a piece of a "warp ring" and then collect them until you have enough to make the whole "ring", which should be a longer quest of some kind, kinda like a map, but longer and no time limit (and made for a certain level, so you can't get the "ring" until you get strong enough to survive). This was just a simple thought I had. I guess there are many different ways you could make it.
But all these quest items should not be tradable, that way every player has to do the quest for himself/herself. Thats all i got.
Oh yeah, while i'm on the subject, i don't think the "ring" should work from home islands. You should still have to find a boat and unstick, to keep things interesting.
