I think you are mistaken. It isn't "fame" that gets people private servers. It's simply the fact that Stefan knows the person well, trusts them, knows what they are capable of making, etc. Not because the person is popular and begs Stefan to do it.
Take Galen for example. He has admin access to these forums yet he only stops by like 2-3 times a month. Why? Because Unixmad trusts Galen with the responsibility. Sure, it might not seem right, but would you tell some random stranger to hold your money, or a friend you can trust?
By the way, this server sounds... boring. :P Sure it's community and all, but all of the servers are communities. You need some kind of razzle dazzle to keep people interested. Like a different system for doing things. If you really want a change, make it so people can't fight. Then it's REALLY a community server.
