Yeah, food is probably pretty easy. Couple of problems in a couple of places, but it's certainly possible.

And is it possible to prevent players from reentering battle levels? Anything here that would be really impossible to script? We need you.
Well... It could be done, I suppose, but it seems a little strange. I'm sure there must be better possible systems, like forcing the player to stay as a ghost until the battle is over or something.

I prefer death. Much simpler, and less frustrating. You wake up after a minute, walk three paces, pass out again?

On a side note, I think that the 2k2 staff are machosists.

Best battle idea yet. If nothing else, the ghost thing must be implemented.

And we need a naming system similar to Namingway from Final Fantasy... is it VI...?

There was a thread about already. Basically you enter your RP name when you first start and stick with it.

There could be locations where you could edit, or have a list of a few to switch between. It would help to prevent these fools with nicks like "!I R BETTOR TAN U"S ORL" and such. It wasn't my idea, but seeing as it could be useful for RPing I posted it.

I noticed in alot of other games when you die you lose items
this also makes death more of a wanted avoided thing. Instead of people say OMI I DON"T CARE IF I DIE BECAUSE I DON"T LOSE JACK!

There would be the potential for multiple characters. Maybe some char select screen. The point of it is quite reasonable, head along to the Future Improvements forum to read my thread on the subject.

Extension to the working economy idea

All kingdoms are given the defualt of three caravans (trading carts). They use these carts to travel to other kingdoms and trade. For example, Dustari may have too much wood so they send it over to Zormites and they barter with some iron ore. Then the trading carts have to back to their respective kingdoms and unload the equipment to be used later on for numerous things. Kingdoms can also make caravans so they can increase trade activities and trading carts should also be assualted (attacked) so all the materials are lost. This way bandits can also acquire items and kingdom military forces have to defend the carts from ambush

I posted this idea a while ago but I thought it would be a good idea to revive it now

The caravans thing is awesome sounding!
Also how about you can choose to eb a kingdom but if you do the Leader must like test you or you have to take a test from an NPC. Or you could be like a bandit or something. Classes, I'm sorry but I think those are the neatest idea on here, of course undead is not really a class more of a race.
Classes:
Warrior
Fighter
Mage
Cleric
Archer
I think that those would acomidate most of the ideas that Ghost Pirate said.

Probably been said but I wanna post before I forget:

Cross GoKarts with Horses. Gokarts have a more realistic control system, but Horses look better, so make a GoKart that looks like a Horse and you're all set!
As for drasines, they fit in a way...mine carts would be better, and not over trees, UNDER trees.

Caravans and stagecoaches, also good.
Starving a town out...hmm. It sounds like a good idea, but the implimentation's bugging me. I can just see the defenders staying behind their impenentrable walls, refusing to lower the gate because the raiders have to log off sometime.
Maybe there's an upkeep cost in food? If your kingdom goes without food for a week, the maintenance crews don't repair the gate and it can be destroyed...

Carrier pigeon PMs. Instead of a red bubble appearing, a white bird floats down to you. Click it to read the message and reply. The time it takes to deliver is dependant on the distance between the two points - further, they wouldn't be free. You can send and resend the same pigeon, and when you log off they just return to sender, but you can't send a PM if you don't have any pigeons...so you gotta go to the pigeon shop, buy one for a gralat, then send to Stefan "HEY STEFAN SPONSOR ME FOR GP PLZ!!!", and he reads it, then keeps the pigeon and you gotta buy a new one or wait for him to log off. ^__^

Also, if the pigeons could be killed...then the seiges would be way better, the king sends a pigeon to a member outside the castle to get support. The raiders shoot it down and the reinforcements never arrive. Muahahahahaha.
VERY IMPORTANT - NPC Control. When you go online, you set your NPC Behavior - stay here, fight these tags, defend these tags, avoid these tags - maybe just by setting a kingdom tag and allowing your generals to take control. WHEN YOU LOG OFF, and this is the part where NPCServ really shines, your player is replaced with an NPC Character, just like you but his name is gray. This way "you" exist 24/7, you're just not always playing your character.

Just think how much richer G2K2 would be if there were no anonymous NPCs. Instead of Skop and Jewel owning their respective shops, the kingdom owns the shops...when they need a shopkeeper, they find an NPC standing around (who would ordinarily be a player - let's say it's me) and order them "Work in Fish Shop!". Then the Tyhm NPC walks across the square, jumps over the counter, and waits on players who want to buy bait or sell fish. Then when I log on, I find myself working at the fish shop, say something rude about the king and why I ever joined the kingdom in the first place, hop over the counter and go off adventuring...a different NPC player will be assigned to working the counter. Heck, it could even be automatic, whoever's in the kingdom, closest, and not online. This could make some sweeeet defenses too - no matter when you visit Dustari Castle, TrueHeat's walking around behind the gate, ready to cut down any Zormites who dare attack.

You can do it, so do it already! This would be so cool!

Hey...come to think of it, you could do all the player's offline control pretty easily. The player sets their minimum bid - I'll work for 0-100 gralats a day. If you're set to 100 you'll basically never go under NPC Control and just sit wherever you are. If you're set to 10 you might be called upon for guard duty - it's a high risk position, so you get paid a lot to do it. If you set it down to 1, you might wake up working the counter at the shop. The idea behind this is your player can make money even while you're offline - which is only fair, since subscriptions cost money even while you're offline. ^_~

I can't help but wonder what Classic would be like if it was allowed P2P scripting options...

As for the first point... Something does need to be done for walls and drawbridges. Maybe each castle just has a gate, and it has to be destroyed with a battering ram? The ram, would, of course, require several people to operate.

And as for the NPC control... Are you certain that's possible? If it is, that's something that could easily make 2k2 the greatest thing to ever be released for Graal. The irony is, of course, that the NPCs would probably roleplay better than half the online kingdom members.

Wanna know what's really sad?

I could do it on Classic. It'd lag like an SOB and the NPCs wouldn't be able to cross levels, and it'd only work for the first player in the level due to how it stores player information, but I could DO it. It isn't hard.
Every player has an NPC that follows them around the level. It sets to their exact appearance and position. When they change their minimum wage, so does the NPC. When they stop updating, the NPC appears - when they resume updating, the NPC vanishes. When they logon, they are warped to the NPC.

1 NPC per upgraded account - Unixmad just WISHES that was a tall order. Man, if we were at the point where that'd overload the server, we'd have enough money to get a bigger server for one....

That's a kinda icky solution. There must be a more efficient one...

There is. Use NPCServ. It's just like Bomy Pets, but with Humans. In fact, you could basically adapt Bomy Pet code to it. Not difficult. Just have the Bomy Pet follow the single owner's footsteps exactly, the usual
setcharprop #C0,#C0(0);
stuff...

SOMEBODY DOO THIIIIS! Who's on G2K2? Stefan? Birdbird? Godspeed? Heck, I dunno. It'd kick butt in any case.

I meant that creating a whole new follow-the-player NPC just to see when they log off seems inefficient.

If it ain't broke, why fix it? There's little doubt in my mind that you could easily make a more efficient system, but the one Tyhm suggested sounds perfectly feasible to me.

You know, I'm easily the most incredibly basic scripter ever to play Graal, and I can already see where you're going with this, with the adapting the bomy pets and all. Godspeed could create this in a second, I'm sure.

/Edit: Hell, I'm about ready to copy all of Tyhm's posts about it, and send it to him in a big 'ole PM.
