That's odd. In a previous gmap I made, the name had an underscore, and it worked fine.

I always get that second bit wrong... Thanks for pointing it out.

I'll regenerate it now

Here's a link to the terrain generator page on the wiki. Hopefully people will be able to view it in the future and understand it more than the previous one. (Thanks to fowlplay for most of the tutorial.) Any suggestions would be appreciated, and don't forget that you can edit the page, as well as most of the pages on the wiki yourself. (On the side bar, under Personal Tools:, click Log In, and enter your forum username and password. Then, once on the page you wish to edit, you can look under Views on the side menu, and press edit to edit the page you are currently on.)

So, is this something you can make a whole gmap in offline mode and load it online and basically have a server? Probably not a good one but something to work with to save time? :o

I've seen the generator years ago but I don't think I've ever tried it.. I'm glad to see it is still around lol

I may check it out ^.^

Yes. Barely anyone has worked with terrain in a long time though.

Well, my plan was for kind of South American-themed offline server.

But, even though terrain would make it more unique, I kind of do prefer a normal tileset. And the problem with that is I could never make my own tileset (Not that I haven't tried).

Ooh, I was thinking I'd help if you needed something like half a statue made gfx so you could go behind it using the normal tileset.. Yeah making your own tileset can be a hassle.. I can't say I'd help with South American-themed tiles.. xD

If it were taking a screenshot and making it transparent sure, why not?.. lol sorry
It wouldn't take too much, but still be hard to edit pic1.png in paint.. I also have some of pics1.png converted into type1 if you'd like to use that.. I actually couldn't get a lot in the blocking section since type0 has more blocking then type1 D:

If you are using the Terrain to make your South American themed server, then you will need to make terrain (grass, water, dirt, etc.) on your own vesion of the picso tileset- which shouldn't be that hard since you can probably just edit the current tileset

But then you will need to creative realstic building, trees, etc. npcs, which will be hard.

As said in my first post, I'm trying many different ways of making it. It's all just a way of bettering my skills in making Levels, Graphics, doing Scripting, all that stoof. I have actually gotten somewhere with my type 0 tileset. I have inside walls done, and I have the outline for the design/mark/things of the outside wall. All the outside walls need to be done is colour - which I know I'll find quite hard.

I don't have picso, so I can't edit it. I can only find picso2, which has no water tiles.

What is the picso and picso2? D: what happen to pics0.png and such..
Is this for the layers type thing I've heard about? I was told you could do layers but I don't know how.. transparencies seem to break the Online Level Editor from what I've seen too :x

I'm just a noob, I don't know much about tilesets, so someone else would have to answer your first question.

To do layers, you need Gonstruct (Theres a link to the download in the thread 'Gonstruct Feedback', in the same sub-forum as this thread). But, everyone else correct me if I'm wrong, I'm a noob, I'm pretty sure I saw someone say you'd have to wait until V6 to actually use them online?

The last time I tried to use Gonstruct it wanted me to get macports and become an apple dev to download something else.. the whole thing wasn't worth it as a Mac user lol.. but if you want to use type1 I have a great template that has a little more info than most. It was deemed bad because the person didn't actually want to try it, but you can use Pot and Signs which most do not state or know about.

Other then that, if you'd like the pics1.png I could post it on here?
