Alternative to Timeouts

Often enough I've used a single timeout which calls other functions rather than multiple timeouts calling single functions. The main loop would only have to breakout for a timeout once. I don't think this really made that big of a difference but in the end my content never created an intensive load. Might be a more viable test for my iTouch :o
