I liked when The Guy just drew stick figure cartoons. He was clever and original, the copies are just that - copies.

Anything is better than what Era morphed into.
What I do not understand is why the server was reset prematurely since rick must work on other things to make Era suitable for the public.

It wasn't reset prematurely. What the original plan was, reset, then move Era Dev to Era. The second part of that plan didn't work out as well as we had hoped.
