Mabye anyone else can help too instead of spamming

Mabye even unixmad could take the time out to post his reasoning, so we know why we wasted money, according to Spark and Polo

Actually, that isnt fair at all. if someone pays for a server, it should have just as much of a chance to be up on the list as all the others.

people pay for their servers so they can make stuff and let others enjiy their world. if it isnt shown on the list, there is no way for others to enjoy.

AKA: What a rip off

Yet due to what we will say "Lazy Administration" this does not exist.

And with the system the way it is, Never!

If I were to buy a server, I would want it to show up in SOME list... even if it were a *cough* fourth tab for "Under Construction" playerworlds or something. Plus the fact that you have to have gold/VIP time to get on is extreme BS. You pay for the server, yet a lot of people still can't even get on your server?

Then... on top of all of that... we have the PWA! Joy! Let's have rules enforced by other people on the server WE administrate!

The deal about them thinking the quality/lack of rules or whatever on the private playerworlds degrades Graal's "image" is stupid. People know these worlds are CREATED by players. They don't expect them to be the most STUNNING servers EVER, nor are they going to think "Oh damn, this server is horrible, Graal sucks!!!" :/

Yeah... there's my "rant" about this. *prepares to have people quote him 999999 times and argue, since that's all that ever goes on here*

When unixmad relesed server renting he compared it to renting a counterstrike server. however here is the diffrence he forgot to mention.

Your CS Server is always on, always playable by anyone who owns the game, your graal server, is hardly playable, hardly noticiable.

Im thinking in the end it was a perfect way to keep wallets from going empty. At least thats what it seems.

Since I am another person with opinions, I am going to assume everyone wants to hear mine and embrace them.

All accounts should be able to log in to under construction servers, unless the owners of said server do not want them able to, that should be his/her own choice.

However, when someone buys a playerworld from Graal, it is already understood that this rule is in place. Therefore, if you want everyone to be able to enter, you have to go public.

Which once again arises the point James made; that of not accepting new servers. The servers were bought with an understanding that once fully developed in an acceptable way, they shall be put up. They SHOULD by all right have this oppurtunity. I believe anything COMPLETE with a fair quality (not even super good, just playable) should go on that hosted tab. All accounts should be able to play them. The stipulation of the hosted tab should be a limited run on it. If you fail to get a playerbase within said time period, go back to construction. If you get that playerbase, by all means go classic!

Decisions on the quality of a playerworld being made by a select group of few gives MASSIVE bias. The said system above illustrates a much better system, because anything open to the public will allow the public to truly show what their needs are. Servers that can obtain a playercount that is decent when everyone can play it, proves itsself much more then a vote or a "select team of qualified officials" could ever do.

Very nice idea, too bad graal dosent think that the common player can make a choice about what they like and what they want to play on.

Lol there for a minute i thought you called them qualified, they have no power, no swing, and somehow they still defend what graal does....
oh you did, in that case *****

Wow well here is my rant I havent read through everyones so If I double mention something forgive me . These are my opinions

I think that everyone should be able to access a paid for server, but of course you would have to have a classic upgrade for you stat's to save. I have a classic upgraded account that I was going to use for testing on my server and I cant because it can't connect that upsets me a little bit.

I think that we should be allowed a very few maybe 1 or 2 extra development accounts that can only access the server It was created for that would be very nifty for people who want to help but don't have gold and also like when I'm trying to do personal tests and I need to log on more than one account.

As someone mentioned before It would be nice to have 4 tabs
Gold - no description needed
Classic - top playerworlds
Hosted - developing playerworlds that have passed pw inspection
U/C - playerworlds currently underconstruction but want to be shown a little.

And of course for those who do not want to be on the U/C list they would remain private and invisible.

I would also like the ability to log on invisible mode on my own server this is for a future improvement maybe but is also something I would like to point out.

The system of billing needs to be fixed no more needs said on that I allready have a thread open on that topic. Graal.net has alot of nice features however most of them arent working / not checked / and it is a bit dificult to navigate.
Hopefully these "technical difficulties" will be fixed soon I would like to get back to work on my project.

Flattery gets you everywhere ::gives the key to my apartment =*:: ; )

And yes TB3, the pricing/billing problem does need to be fixed. That is by far inexcusible.

I think there should be a fortnightly juggle between UC/Hosted/Classic tabs.
The system whereby you spend lots of moneys, sweat for months to make a kickass server, only for unix to say "osorry, classic's all full up with crap-on-a-stick servers that only get around 10 players peak time so you can't get a chance" is rubbish. It should be that, if your server passes the PWA, it goes to hosted. If it manages to get a playerbase of like 20, then it goes on the classic tab in place of a classic server that hasn't had a high playerbase as of late. That classic server goes to hosted.
The new server gets two weeks in which to prove whether it can keep that playerbase or whether it was just a "lets all go see this new server for a few days" playerbase. If it can keep this playerbase for two weeks, it stays on classic tab. If it doesn't keep it, then after two weeks it gets replaced by either another new hosted server with high playerbase, or possibly that old classic server that's somehow managed to get its PB back up.
And that system goes on every two weeks, lalalala.

Edit: Possibly the reason we see everyone crammed onto two servers at the top of the list is that it is the only server that comes close to their needs, and all the other ones suck major donkeys. Surely there should be more of a variation for players to choose from, rather than unix saying "sorry, no dice. Bonjour."

Good , and fix the current subscription problems too O_o or at least let people know that you are working on it.
Whilst my server is down I will just make graphic renovations and fix some things offline as long as I get my time back its fine.
I have to do some storyboarding too and thats all done by hand ill get to work on that.
